Clear Water Pump and Well Service is the company South Shore homeowners tend to call when the water simply stops — a burst well pump on a holiday weekend, a dry tap after a power outage, water gone cold mid-storm. Based in Stoughton, the company says it has served Massachusetts since 2010, describing more than 15 years of local experience with wells, pumps and water filtration. What stands out across its reviews is speed after hours. Homeowners describe calling at 10 p.m. and getting a callback within five minutes, a crew on-site by morning, and a pump replaced the same day a house goes dry. Several reviews name co-owners Paul and Dave directly, describing them walking a customer through a diagnosis over the phone before a truck ever arrives. That pattern repeats often enough to be the defining trait: Google puts the company at 4.7 stars from 191 ratings and HomeAdvisor at 4.9 from 33, and it holds an A+ accredited rating with the Better Business Bureau. Its stated work spans well pump repair and installation, well drilling, water filtration and softener systems, geothermal wells, irrigation systems and generators. It isn't a spotless picture, though, and it's worth knowing before booking anything beyond a straightforward repair. A run of reviews from 2022 through 2024 describe pricing or scope disputes: one customer said a driller working for the company put a new well in the wrong spot, blocking a septic installation until it was corrected; another warned not to pay until a well report is provided; a third detailed a shallow-well pump job that ran to $715 across two separate charges without a completed repair. A more recent review describes a $260 charge for a well-capping visit where the technician said he'd never seen a well like it and never followed up afterward. These are a small share of the reviews on file — most describe fast, competent fixes — but anyone with an unusual or complicated well situation would do well to get a written estimate before work starts. For the routine call — a dead pump, a filtration system, a well that needs servicing — the pattern here holds up: quick to answer, quick to show up, and generally well-regarded for the work itself. For anything more involved, like a new well installation or a job the crew calls unusual, pin down the scope and price in writing first.
Site installation of new pump for an irrigation well, went well despite difficult conditions.
We recently had a immediate loss of water. We called Clear Water and they sent Demitrius out within a couple hours. He did a great job of explaining everything and walking through how to address the problem. Demitrius was very helpful and came out the next day with the parts and got it fixed, amazing turnaround time and customer service!
We can't say enough good things about Clearwater Pump & Well Service. They truly went above and beyond to help us resolve a very frustrating issue with our irrigation pump and drive. After another company installed the wrong drive, Clearwater stepped in and worked tirelessly to find a solution. Before determining that the drive needed to be replaced, they spent hours at our home and on the phone with the drive manufacturer's customer support and technical team, doing everything possible to get the existing drive working. Their dedication, persistence, and commitment to helping us were exceptional. A huge thank you to Paul and his outstanding team—Mike, service technician Dimo, and electrician Jon. Everyone was knowledgeable, professional, patient, and genuinely cared about getting the job done right. We highly recommend Clearwater Pump & Well Service to anyone looking for honest, reliable, and experienced professionals. If you want a company that stands behind its work and goes the extra mile for its customers, Clearwater is the one to call.
I called a few companies before Clear Water as I had used them in the past. No response. Clear Water response was prompt and courteous as I was not a current customer Demo came at the appointed time and was very efficient. What we hoped to be an easy fix turned into a multiple hour job and even though he had to call in reinforcements he was a pleasure to work with. His day had to be extended because of my issue but he remained polite and committed to my needs. The men who worked on my well were terrific. The office personnel was professional and accommodating and the entire experience was positive. I highly recommend Clear Water and although I hope not to have to use them again, I wouldn’t hesitate if an issue arose.
My well pump died in the early evening and when I put a call into them they got back to me right away and tried to trouble-shoot the problem with me and finally determined that the well pump had failed. They were at my house the next morning at 8am and replaced the pump right away. Their communication was outstanding with both the office staff and the technicians. These guys were terrific and I would highly recommend them. One of the best customer experiences I've ever had.
