Two of Daniel Harvey Construction's three permitted Marblehead jobs ran past $100,000 — a Hathaway Road kitchen and third-floor bathroom renovation, and a kitchen-and-bathrooms renovation on Alexander Circle. Daniel Robert Harvey runs the company from Marblehead, where he lives; the site says it began serving Boston's North Shore in 2017 and describes him working with a crew and qualified subcontractors. The work is general contracting with a finish-carpentry center of gravity. The company describes renovations, additions, kitchens, baths, decks, doors and windows, basement conversions and historically accurate restoration, with custom cabinetry and millwork built in its own local shop. The permits read the same way: new cabinetry and millwork, floor refinishing, finish carpentry, window and door replacement, and on the Hathaway Road job the removal of structural and non-structural first-floor walls. BuildZoom lists the three permits under the LLC, all in Marblehead and all marked complete. Both of its Google reviews landed in July 2024, and both are five stars. One customer had old carpet pulled from the stairs, hallway, a couple of closets and a second bedroom, with laminate put down in its place — Joey, on Dan's team, did the work himself, and the reviewer credited both men with timely communication. The other hired Dan to rebuild a 20-plus-year-old wood deck and back stairs in composite, reinforcing the existing structure along the way; that customer called the crew meticulous and said they showed up when they said. One thing to know before you go looking for credentials: the registration and the permits sit under DRH Builders LLC, Harvey's legal entity, not the Daniel Harvey Construction trading name. Under the LLC, Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration #191714 is active on the state registry; an earlier registration in Harvey's own name, #137329, is expired. A sensible call for a North Shore remodel you want run by the owner, with the cabinetry and trim made in-house. Confirm insurance and who will actually be on site day to day, get scope and allowances in writing, and ask for references from the Marblehead projects.
