When a furnace quits in a New England cold snap, what people want is someone who picks up. A customer writing in January 2025 woke to a freezing house during a deep freeze; their wife called Davco that morning and a technician was out almost immediately. Another 2025 review describes Eric arriving in a snowstorm to replace a furnace, laying out every option first. Davco works out of Pleasant Street in Norwood and says it has been family owned and operated since 1973 — 53 years by its own count — handling residential and commercial heating, cooling and ventilation design, installation, maintenance and repair. Its Massachusetts HVAC licence is active, held under the name Davco Air Conditioning Co, and its Better Business Bureau page carries an A+. The same handful of technicians come up by name across five years of reviews: Eric, Kenny, Brian, Manny. A property manager wrote in 2024 that Davco had been the go-to crew for five years and the prices were fair. A 2023 customer replacing an A/C system described Eric explaining how a two-stage unit would behave alongside an existing Carrier Infinity furnace before anything was sold. A 2024 reviewer got a new furnace in on time with no mess, and a thermostat that turned out to be complicated was chased down until it worked. Three reviews have arrived since March 2026, none of them negative. Worth knowing before calling: the NATE, Cool Smart QIV and EPA certifications on the company's site are its own claims, not registry-verified credentials. Its stated service area is a tight ring around Norwood — Walpole, Westwood, Canton, Dedham, Medfield, Norfolk, North Attleboro, Sharon, Dover, Foxboro, Mansfield, Franklin, Plainville and Stoughton — so a job outside that ring is a question to ask first. The BBB profile puts the company at 55 years while its own site dates it to 1973. Davco suits a homeowner who wants the crew that installs the system to be the one servicing it afterwards, and who would rather be walked through the choices than handed one. Ask which technician is assigned to your job and what maintenance looks like after the install.
Everyone from the office staff to the technicians are very responsive. They communicate and explain everything clearly. Work done was timely, and done thoroughly well. They cleaned up nicely.
Great work, and on time!
I have worked with DAVCO for many years - we have two zones, serviced by older but still functioning heating/AC units - Eric and Kenny have both worked on our systems - we have always received responsive, knowledgable service and I know I can count on them to solve any problems.
Our heat went out this winter. Eric came out in a snow storm and replaced our furnace. He laid out all our options and gave us all the information we needed to make a decision. Very honest and dependable!
Davco installed and has maintained our furnace and air conditioning equipment for the past 6 years. They are very knowledgeable, personable, and easy to work with. During a recent problem we had to use a different company. After 3 visits, and assurances, the problem remained. Eric, from Davco, diagnosed and fixed the problem in 15 minutes. He took the time to explain the issue and the solution. One visit and done! We highly recommend them.
