Peter Sakalis has been doing business in Norwood as Poseidon Plumbing & Heating since at least 2015, and the job people call him for, again and again, is a water heater that needs replacing. His Massachusetts plumbing license (32108-PL-J) is active and verified against the state registry. The written record runs from 2015 through the end of 2024 -- 27 reviews across six platforms, with Angi and HomeAdvisor both showing 4.8 stars from 26 ratings. Most of the detail sits in a cluster of 2019 reviews: customers described him arriving on time, cleaning up after himself, and, more than once, going out of his way -- in a 2019 review, one described Peter tightening a leaking pipe connection on the spot at no charge rather than replacing the whole run. In a November 2024 review, a customer recounted a same-day water heater swap, quoted that morning and running hot water by noon. Several reviewers over the years single out how fast he answers the phone: a 2019 review recalled an emergency water heater leak fixed within two hours of the call, and another simply says he 'always picks up the phone and helps out very quickly.' The work itself runs beyond simple swaps -- a 2020 review described a two-day job replacing a water heater's venting, running new gas and water lines, and clearing out the old equipment, and a 2019 review described a full natural-gas steam boiler replacement that stretched into a 12-to-14-hour day so the house would have heat that night. There's a real gap to weigh against that history: a December 2024 review from a commercial customer describes a starkly different experience -- staff conduct contentious enough that the reviewer called law enforcement, no walkthrough or clear accounting of charges, and work the reviewer says was called finished before it was inspected or permitted. It's the only review of its kind on file, but it's recent and detailed, so it's worth asking directly about permitting and the final walkthrough before booking, especially for a larger or commercial job. For a straightforward residential water heater or boiler replacement, the history here is long and mostly consistent. For anything bigger or commercial, confirm permitting and the walkthrough process up front.
I had a very negative experience with this company. The staff, from the office to the manager and technician, were consistently disrespectful and unprofessional. They displayed hostility toward me as a customer, to the point where I had to involve law enforcement to have them removed from my property. There was no transparency regarding labor or parts, and they failed to provide clear answers to my questions. They refused to conduct a walkthrough at the end of the job or address concerns about their charges. Additionally, they claimed the job was completed when it was neither finished nor inspected. To make matters worse, they worked without obtaining the required permit, despite it being mandatory in Centennial before starting the work. This company showed a lack of accountability and professionalism throughout the process, and I would not recommend their services to anyone.
Peter Sakalis of Poseidon Plumbing & Heating came by around 9 AM to see what the project involved. He gave me a verbal quote that sounded fair and was off to get the new water heater and had it installed with running hot water by 12 PM that day. I was very impressed with his work and professionalism. Cleaned up any mess and water created and I would recommend him to anyone.
Excellent no nonsense, said what he was going to do and did what he said…. He even cleaned up the water!
After 30-years since building our home it was time for a major kitchen/1st bath gut and renovation. Poseidon Plumbing & Heating excelled in all critical project aspects including: • Competitive pricing • Excellent Quality workmanship – Peter, the owner, is a true craftsman! • Adherence to schedule • Focus on safety of the customer and their personnel (e.g., following COVID-19 protocols) • Housekeeping – maintaining a clean work area • Excellent communication with throughout the process Overall, it was an outstanding customer experience! Poseidon Plumbing & Heating will definitely be invited back for my next project.
I'm always wary of 5 star reviews, but Poseidon clearly deserves this rating! Peter is all one could ask for in a plumber: honest, no nonsense, clean work. He was prompt, efficient and knowledgeable. Fair and reasonable pricing for a hot water heater install. Appreciative of the positive reviews that led us to him and will absolutely use him again in the future.
