The Medford company says it has designed and installed ground-source heating, cooling and hot-water systems since 2011, with hands-on geothermal work going back to 2008, and that it puts in no fossil-fuel equipment at all. Its BBB listing, for an LLC incorporated in August 2010, files it under exactly one category — geothermal heat pumps. That focus shapes how a job runs. By its own account the company keeps design, permitting, drilling coordination, installation and the rebate paperwork in-house instead of parcelling them out, and the owners stay hands-on through design and install. The site names the two people behind it — Melanie Head, a geothermal specialist with a doctorate in environmental engineering, and Jayme Ciaramitaro, described as a master electrician in Massachusetts and New Hampshire — and lists IGSHPA accreditation, NATE ground-source loop-installer certification, and dealer relationships with WaterFurnace and Hydron Module. Outside voices are scarce. In a May 2023 r/geothermal thread about heat-pump costs in Massachusetts, one homeowner said they had used EnergySmart Alternatives and that six months in the system was working out. That is the only independent comment anyone has left in public; the BBB page carries no customer reviews, no complaints and no government actions, so this page carries no rating. Two things to pin down before signing. Nearly everything above is the company's own account — the certifications and the master-electrician credential included — so ask to see the paperwork. And the stated service area is wide for a shop the BBB lists with one employee, running from Cambridge and Medford out toward Beverly, Billerica and beyond; confirm your town and what the travel means for scheduling and service calls. The right call if you want a geothermal specialist rather than a general HVAC contractor for a ground-source install. Ask for two or three recent Massachusetts systems you can phone about, and get the design, drilling scope and incentive paperwork written into the proposal.
