A 2025 r/connecticut commenter wrote that they used Fire & Ice out of Granby and it had been good to work with. A recent customer who had two earlier quotes, one to replace the whole system, said Joe came out to service the heat pump and they were out a service fee and a capacitor. A 2023 customer called the communication horrible and said the company never answers or responds when they reach out. A 2022 customer said a heat pump repair that was to cost $2,000 ended up costing over $10,500 after a switching valve attempt, a new air handler and a new heat pump.
“We had a Bosch 20 seer 5 ton heat pump and Bosch furnace installed last spring here in Canton by Fire & Ice.”
“I used Fire & Ice out of Granby. They have been good to work with.”
I got two quotes, one that said to replace my whole system and another to do $1500 in work. Couldn’t get a straight answer on what was wrong. Joe came out to service my heat pump and, as the saying goes, third times the charm. I’m out a service fee and a capacitor. Thank you for friendly and efficient service!!
AC stopped working completely and I thought it was going to be a bigger issue. They showed up, diagnosed it quickly, and explained everything in plain terms. The receptionist is super friendly and by a miracle was able to get me an appointment the same day. Ended up being a bad contactor that took out the transformer, and they also caught a failing capacitor while they were in there. They fixed everything and added a fuse so it doesn’t happen again. Fair pricing, no nonsense, and system is running perfectly now. Would use them again.
Great experience from initial appointment with Gary to discuss the project to completion of the work. All employees from Gary, Jenny (office) and technicians were easy to work with, informative and professional. We had several jobs done including replacement of hot water tank, repair/upgrade oil burner and thermostat. They also replaced the oil line and filter to code. I would recommend this business.
Our heater was was staying on. Called them and they came out right away and seem to have fixed the issue.
Fire and Ice is amazing. Every interaction with them from routine maintenance to emergency calls is met with prompt attention and understanding. Jenny is amazing and all the service techs we've ever had out to the house are kind, courteous, patient and welcoming of questions. Very reasonably priced and never take advantage.
