First-Rate Moving & Storage has the kind of review pattern a homeowner notices before a move: Google lists 85 ratings at 5 stars, HomeAdvisor lists 34 ratings at 4.9, and the recent Google comments are still describing ordinary moving-day details rather than vague praise. The company says Jay started First-Rate Moving in 2015 after working for a small moving company in the Greater Boston area, and its own site names him as owner/founder. The work is centered on moving, from local residential and commercial moves to long-distance moves, storage moves, senior moves, pool tables, hot tubs and spa moving. In the last six months, customers specifically mention a last-minute apartment move with items arriving intact, antique furniture handled carefully, a daughter’s move completed in a few hours, shipping POD packing, and heavy office furniture moved without lost parts. The public profile is not spotless, but the current pattern is favorable. BBB assigns an A+ and says the business is not BBB accredited; HomeAdvisor lists the company as Approved. One older HomeAdvisor review is sharply negative and raises a handling and claims dispute, so it is worth putting move instructions, inventory separation, valuation coverage, and any damage-claim process in writing before the truck arrives. First-Rate looks best suited for homeowners who want a dedicated mover for local or long-distance work, especially when careful wrapping, scheduling help, or heavier items are part of the job. Before booking, verify the self-reported DOT 3141590 and MC 99572 directly with FMCSA, and confirm exactly what is included in the quote, what happens if the scope changes, and how damage claims are handled.

I moved my daughter last weekend with First Rate Moving and Storage. Our movers Jimmy, Billy and Jesus were awesome, very professional, courteous and efficient. We had our move completed in a few hours. Daniel was very helpful in getting the move organized and scheduled. Everything worked out great. I would definitely recommend First Rate Moving and storage if you are looking to move and need help.
