One hundred and twenty-five Google ratings, not a single one below five stars, and the owner's own name — Leo — in most of them. That is the shape of Red Llama Moving & Storage, and it has held steady for years. The company is headquartered at 85 Essex St in Andover and describes itself as a modern relocation company with a traditional touch, working the surrounding communities, neighboring states and the Eastern Seaboard. It handles residential and commercial moves, office and event work, and will advise on storage — including warehouse, pod and on-site options during a remodel — rather than only selling its own space. What customers describe is a small owner-run crew doing the hard, awkward jobs other movers duck. In recent months they have carried a heavy vanity Home Depot abandoned in a foyer up a narrow stairwell, shifted a cast-iron stove into a garage, hauled roughly 75 bins from a basement to a second-floor attic, and run a three-way move between a house, a short-term condo and a storage unit in a single day, days after a two-foot snowstorm. One customer moved from Boston to Connecticut and singled out the bed being reassembled in record time. The reviews are unusually consistent about the things that go wrong with movers and did not here: crews arriving on time or early, furniture wrapped, nothing damaged, and quotes that held — one Andover-to-Wilmington customer said the final bill came in slightly under the estimate. Repeat business runs through the set, including a customer on their fourth move with the company, and named crew members — Paul, Tony, Travis — recur across years, which is not the pattern of a bought review set. What is worth pinning down is paperwork. The site states plainly that the company is licensed but publishes no number, and nothing here was checked against a state registry. Ask for the Massachusetts DPU household-goods-carrier licence and the certificate of insurance before booking. And if you need storage rather than advice about storage, ask whose facility your things will actually sit in. For a local or East Coast move where the awkward, heavy, tight-stairway items are the problem, this is a straightforward call — a small crew with an exceptionally clean record and a habit of taking the jobs bigger outfits price out of reach.

Red Llama! Efficient, accommodating, incredibly careful with both belongings (including packaging/wrapping furniture) and surroundings, more than reasonable cost with clear billing and no surprise charges, and they’re super personable guys. Not a scratch on anything- walls, floors, or furniture. I would use them again no hesitation.

Red llama ended up being the best aspect of my entire house sale and purchase experience. I had a very positive experience starting from the very first phone call, which the owner, Leo, answered immediately. He was pleasant on the phone, answered all my questions, and even offered some helpful tips for packing. I felt like he really cared from the start. On the day of the move, he and his crew arrived early. They first surveyed the house to get a good idea and how best approach the job. His crew of three young men were exceptional. They were thoughtful, hardworking, and courteous. They set to work right away and took special care of all my household possessions. They did not allow themselves more than a 5-minute break on either end of the move ( and they deserved a good break!) The unloading of the truck at my new home went just as smoothly. They really took the time to find out the location of each room and took the time to set up everything carefully. They wouldn't leave until they felt I was fully satisfied. I would highly recommend this company. As I said at the beginning, Red Llama was the best experience of my entire moving process.

Leo and Paul were great for my move from Boston to Connecticut. They were efficient and I felt they took care with all my furniture items. They assembled my bed in record time which has notoriously been difficult for movers. Highly recommend this company!!
