One customer has had the same man looking after their window shades for six years. He helped choose them, installed them throughout the house, and has come back whenever something stopped working, most recently this August. From Shades to Shutters is Patrick O'Brien, working out of Walpole across the greater Boston area. He says he got into window coverings in 2003 running a Budget Blinds franchise and went independent in 2009, and his site names Graber, Norman Shutters and Lafayette among the lines he carries. The routine customers describe hardly varies, which is rather the point of hiring him: he arrives with samples, sends a quote inside a day, comes back to measure, and then installs. A customer ordering six oversized shades and a 12-foot run in a 2025 review credited his eye for colour and texture. Another that year worked with Pat on the selection and an installer named Dave on the fitting. A 2024 customer in the middle of a renovation leaned on him to match the treatment to what the room was becoming. People who do this for a living hire him too. In a 2024 review a builder wrote that he had used Pat many times over the years, and a 2022 reviewer from the design industry said much the same. In a 2021 review, a customer shopping around when other companies were booked out and quoting high found his prices and his schedule reasonable. Repairs are part of the work as well — a 2024 customer had existing blinds fixed alongside new ones going in. The written history runs 2020 to 2026, with 5.0 averages on Google from 26 ratings and on Angi and HomeAdvisor from 11 each. Ask what the manufacturer's warranty covers on the line you pick, and who comes out if a mechanism fails a few years down the road.
