Grasseschi Plumbing and Heating, Inc.

Grasseschi Plumbing and Heating says the most useful thing about itself up front: it no longer takes residential or service work. The Worcester company now puts its crews on large contracts for commercial, educational, government and medical clients. It has been at 1299 Grafton Street a long time. BBB puts the start of the business at 1969 and incorporation in 1981, and the company says it has been family owned across three generations — founder John Grasseschi, then his son Jim, and after Jim's death in 2013 his wife Michell, who is listed on the BBB profile as president. The Massachusetts Supplier Diversity Office registry shows an active Women Business Enterprise certification that expires 2028-04-25. Its BBB page carries an A+ grade in the commercial plumber category and lists licence number 4072 from the Division of Professional Licensure; check the state register for where that licence stands today. One thing to raise before signing a contract: an aggregator of U.S. Department of Labor enforcement records reports a formal OSHA inspection of the company at a school site in Upton that resulted in six citations. Ask the company about it and about how it runs safety on site now. For a school, hospital or municipal plumbing package in central Massachusetts, this is the kind of long-established shop that bids that work — and a homeowner with a leaking pipe should call someone else, by the company's own account.
