Greer Electric is presented in HomeAdvisor as a family-owned electrical contractor serving Barnstable-area homeowners, with 26 years of experience and work centered on switches, outlets, fixtures, wiring, panel upgrades, and electrical additions or remodels. The profile names Robert Greer and places the business in Marstons Mills, within the Barnstable area. Recent customers describe prompt responses, professional conduct, fair estimates, panel and wiring work, and successful small electrical repairs. A January 2026 review praises three projects and calls the work exceptional; a May 2026 reviewer says Robert was first to respond and complete the job. Older accounts describe meter-box replacement, outside electrical cable work, and difficult wiring completed on time, while the 4.9/5 HomeAdvisor rating is based on 25 ratings. Ask about pricing before booking. In an August 2026 review, a homeowner said a $35 GFI replacement became a disputed $433.62 bill and reported an undisclosed $360 minimum charge, although the amount was later reduced. That same review still described Robert as responsive, professional, and courteous. Greer Electric appears suited to homeowners needing routine electrical repairs, wiring, panel work, or remodel-related electrical installation. Confirm the business name, address, minimum charge, and total estimate before authorizing work.
Robert was quick to respond, professional, and courteous. I needed a GFI replaced in my kitchen which I had identified as the issue. Robert arrived, confirmed the GFI was bad and said he needed to go buy one. Why would this not be a standard stock item on his truck? One hour later he returned, installed the new GFI in 20 minutes and was done. He presented me a bill for $433.62 for a $35 part, and 20 minutes work. We settled on a more reasonable amount, but still was a very expensive amount. Robert advised he charges a minimum of $360 to walk thru your door. This was never told to me when we spoke. I never would have agreed to that amount. Good electrician but needs to be upfront with his charge before you agree to hire him. Beware!!
Great customer service, polite, professional, did a great job on time. I would definitely hire him again
Robert was the first to give me a call and the first to come out and do the job. I will use him for electrical work again.
Robbie and co did a great job all the way around on 3 projects. Estimates were on point, work exceptional, very satisfied with the results. Robbie is professional, responsive, reliable and highly recommended.
