That December 2024 account is the work Growth Development's customers keep describing: decks, porches, stairs, and the demolition that comes before them. Carlos, named as the owner in a 2024 review, runs the crew out of the Boston area; the company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #210331, is active, and Spanish is spoken. The deck history runs deep and detailed. Another December 2024 customer's very large deck took about three weeks, with the crew there every day regardless of weather and cold. In May 2025 a homeowner said the team moved swiftly through tricky permitting requirements; a December 2024 reviewer put it flatly — Carlos "did everything by the book, got the permits and performed the work within code regulations - no short cuts." In March 2025 a front porch rehabilitation was finished in under two days even after the scope grew mid-job. In January 2026, a deck and front steps drew praise for craftsmanship from a customer who said the crew cared about doing the job right. Price comes up nearly as often as craft. A March 2022 homeowner had three companies quote a porch renovation and found Carlos's the most reasonable; another writing that month took three consultations before hiring him to demolish and rebuild a porch and gutter, and the job finished sooner than expected. An October 2024 review said the cost of a replaced side deck was fair compared with other contractors. Several reviewers mention texts answered quickly. It isn't only decks. A November 2024 customer listed three jobs — a deck built, a front pathway paved, a powder room remodeled. In July 2024 a porch led to all-new house siding trim and gutters. A July 2023 customer who had a deck replaced hired the same crew for a roof. And in September 2021, Carlos took down a closet to open up an entryway for a stroller with a two-week-old in the house; the customer said he respected their privacy and quiet. Ratings sit at 5.0 from 21 on Google, 4.8 on both Angi and HomeAdvisor, and 4.7 from 19 on Thumbtack, where 76 hires are shown — though Thumbtack's ratings include 11% at two stars and HomeAdvisor's one at three. Two housekeeping items before you call: the company's own site gives Saugus as its base while Thumbtack and HomeAdvisor list Malden, and those three sources put it at nine, six and five years in business. For a deck, a porch rebuild, or stairs that need permits pulled properly, this is the right kind of call. Get the scope and the quote in writing and compare it — several of these customers did exactly that before hiring.
