A June 2025 customer ran through the list — cedar shakes replaced, new gable vents, a window, trim, fascia on the deck — and then added the part that stuck with them: the crew did some extra work nobody had asked for, and didn't charge for it. GS Garcia Custom Build works out of Hyannis under owner Rafael Garcia, doing residential and commercial construction and remodeling: exterior shell work, framing, decks, kitchens and painting. The website names Chatham, Falmouth, Martha's Vineyard, Osterville, Truro and Wellfleet as its service area, and Thumbtack lists a background check on Rafael Garcia. The outside of the house is where most of the described work lands. A November 2025 client had new siding and trim put on and said Rafael answered questions immediately. In February 2026, a homeowner had an outdoor porch and balcony redone that hadn't been touched since it was built 39 years earlier, and noted the crew worked through difficult winter weather for a reasonable quote. Framing is the other half. A September 2025 client had Rafael's framing and roofing team build a pool pavilion, described the scope and budget as precise, and got a custom island built on top of the original request. A January 2024 Thumbtack customer had framing done for an added bedroom and bathroom by Rafael and Ramon, finished inside the agreed timeframe. Rafael runs the jobs himself. A November 2025 homeowner who needed a lot of exterior work said he kept them informed through estimating and permitting, then was on site supervising the work once it started; a September 2025 client counted five team members on their house and found Rafael accessible whenever they wanted to talk through progress. People bring them back, too: a December 2024 reviewer was on their third project with the company, and an April 2025 customer had custom pantry shelving built and a back deck replaced. A July 2025 client whose Cape Cod lake house basement bedroom had flooded said the crew came in the evenings to hit the finish date, and a June 2025 basement floor went in a day ahead of schedule. Two things to raise before you sign. The Massachusetts registry lists the company's home improvement contractor registration, #211255, as expired — ask where that stands and get the answer before any money moves. And the company's own listings don't agree on how long it has been working: the site says "Since 2016", other pages on it claim over 15 years and over two decades, and Thumbtack lists nine years in business. For Cape exterior work — shakes, siding, trim, a deck, a porch rebuild — or for framing an addition with the owner on the job every day, this is a reasonable shortlist candidate. Settle the registration question first, then get the scope, the schedule and what happens to change orders in writing.
We had a fantastic experience. The quality of the work was outstanding, the contractor was reliable and communicated with us every step of the project, and the pricing was fair with no surprises. They treated our home with respect, finished on schedule, and the results exceeded our expectations. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy contractor.
Rafael and his team did an excellent job redoing our outdoor porch/balcony which was not redone since the original built 39 years ago. We got a reasonable quote, clear communication and high quality work even under some difficult winter weather conditions. We are quite happy with the result. Not only all the functional issues are fixed but also the appearance is so much more attractive that we will enjoy this space a lot during spring and summer. We will likely hire this team for future projects.
Garcia Custom Builders came highly recommended by a friend. I needed a lot of exterior work done on my house. He kept me informed during the estimating and permitting process. Once the work started, the owner was on-site and supervised all work that was done. He was in contact with his workers whenever he was away from the site. They were prompt, polite and worked very clean. I was especially impressed by the worker that stayed behind every day and cleaned up everything. They worked hard all day, every day until completed. He inspected the work daily to make sure every detail was done to satisfaction. I would highly recommend his services.
GS Garcia put new siding and trim on our house. Rafael and his team did a fantastic job. His crew was reliable and professional. Any questions or concerns that we had, Rafael immediately responded with an answer. We are very pleased with the way the project turned out. We highly recommend GS Garcia.
Rafael and his framing and roofing team were excellent to work with in building our pool pavilion. Raf was precise in the scope of work and budgets and his team delivered high quality work on time and on budget. Raf also custom built an island at our request that we will enjoy for years to come. We look forward to working with them again on our next project.
