H&L Paving LLC tears out and replaces driveways, and the company says it has over 20 years of experience with driveways, asphalt work, seal coating and repair. Its stated service area includes Fairfield, Westport, Trumbull, Norwalk and Greenwich. A recent customer said cracks appeared within 1.5 years of the paving job, under a contract with a two-year warranty covering cracks and sinkholes. That customer said the company inspected the damage and promised a repair date, but more than 2.5 months and several follow-up calls later no repairs had been made. A 2025 customer said the old driveway was dug up, new asphalt laid with new Belgian blocks, and the pitch set so water flows away from the house. A 2025 customer who had three repair bids said the company replaced the whole driveway for far less, then extended a stone patio to support an emergency generator. A 2025 customer said the workers moved the sprinklers and put them back afterward. A 2025 customer said the workers were 2 to 4 hours late to every appointment, the raised driveway cut the bottom back step in half, and asphalt was left on the grass and the street, with no one coming to look after two requests. In a 2024 review, a customer said Luis and his team put in a driveway with a Belgian block apron on a job that was tricky for drainage. Google shows 4.2 stars from 33 ratings. The Better Business Bureau gives it a C grade and lists 2 complaints. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0649411, as active, held by H & L Paving LLC.
The initial paving job appeared to be well done, but cracks were apparent within 1.5 years and less than six months after the driveway was sealed. Their contract includes a two-year warranty covering cracks and sinkholes. The company came out to inspect the damage and told us we would be placed on the repair schedule. However, it has now been over 2.5 months. Despite several follow-up calls, we continue to receive the same response: that they will get back to us shortly with a repair date. Unfortunately, no date has been provided, and no repairs have been made. This has been a very disappointing experience. A warranty is only meaningful if a company stands behind its work and honors its contractual commitments. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this business.
Worst company ever. They give you good price, do a horrible job, then never come back to fix it.

H&L did an amazing job on my driveway, even with the cold weather working against them. Their team was professional, efficient, and clearly skilled at what they do. The finished driveway looks flawless and exceeds my expectations. I highly recommend them for anyone needing quality paving work done right.
HL Paving did an amazing job on my driveway. The finished work came out really good, and I’m extremely happy with the results. The workers were all very kind, respectful, and professional throughout the whole process. They even went out of their way to move my sprinklers and put them back afterward, which I really appreciated.
