Hastings Floor Covering has been a family business in Groveland since 1976, according to its own site — the Better Business Bureau lists it at 49 years — and the reviews back up that longevity. Several customers describe using the company for 20 years or decades: one review credits Christine Brady in the showroom for guiding hardwood, tile, vinyl and carpet purchases across two decades, and a general contractor describes a 20-year working relationship on multiple projects, calling out reliability and a strong sales staff. The specifics that show up repeatedly are care around a job site and a big install team. A recent 2026 review described the crew pulling off a full removal-and-install on a tight pre-move timeline in a freshly painted house without dinging the new paint. Reviews name installers Bradley, Dan, Randy, Noah, Cole and Troy directly, crediting them with flawless staircase carpet setups, vacuumed and spotless cleanup, and — in a late-2025 review — a three-person crew coordinating a multi-day install with "detail talent." A 2024 review described Hastings stepping up when a carpet delivery ran into a problem, working to get materials there on time and even recommending a mover who helped empty and refill the house around the job. There are two real complaints worth knowing about. In a March 2026 review, a customer described incomplete grout on one job, and on a later job, chipped tile and a row left unfinished under a sink, with slow responses to an email about it and payment requested before the issues were addressed; the same review said the company's suggestion to paint the bathroom before tiling backfired, leaving visible baseboard separation. A 2023 review separately described poor customer service and reluctance to resolve a problem with the carpet installer. Both stand out against a much longer run of five-star reviews, but they're specific enough to ask about directly — particularly how a punch-list issue gets handled before final payment. For hardwood, tile, carpet, or laminate flooring in the Groveland area, this is a long-running, family-run shop with a deep customer base and a big installation crew — just get the finish-work details in writing given the two complaints on record.
“Hastings Floor Covering”
Hastings Flooring did amazing on our removal and install. We were working on tight timelines before a move with limited access to the house and they pulled it off. We had just had our house freshly painted, they were clean, avoided dinging any of the new paint and were in and out of here in just a few days working around additional contractors and movers. Thank you all so much for making this happen for us! I would recommend Hastings to anyone needing flooring!
This was our second floor with this company. Hastings did an awesome job - Randy was the installer. It came out perfect! Thank you! We will use you again!
Hastings Floor Covering, Inc just finished new carpet in two rooms and they earned a 5 star review. The crew of 3 men were experienced, capable, polite and respectful of ourselves and our home. I can recommend this company and their employees unconditionally.
Had 3 jobs done by Hastings. Second job took final payment before they came back out to fix incomplete grout. 3rd job, they were looking for payment days after not responding back from our original email that chipped tile was laid and a row of tile under the sink was not completed. They also recommended having the bathroom professionally painted before tiling which was a terrible idea because it was an absolute mess and visible baseboard separation from the wall, removing that clean aesthetic look. Felt like a waste of a grand paid for the paint job. Both jobs were calculated poorly for number of days needed, which resulted in unexpected time off work. Finally, snow recently melted from their last job and found cut tile and mortar dumped in the snow bank, now on my front lawn.
Hastings has replaced all of my flooring over the past 20 years. Hardwood, tile, vinyl, and carpeting. Couldn’t ask for better service. Christine Brady has been so helpful with her guidance in the showroom. I couldn’t do any of this without her!
