Hometown Handyman and Remodeling is a Bellingham-area business run by Joe and Katy Miele, doing a wide range of home repair and small remodeling work. The company holds an active Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, verified against the state registry. Fifteen Google reviews from this year alone describe a genuinely broad range of finished work: gutters cleared and cleaned out quickly, a shower repaired as planned, deck boards and railings fixed before a family moved in, a house and garage stained with rotted wood replaced along the way, cracked kitchen tiles replaced, closet shelving built, brick steps repaired, storm doors hung, and carpet swapped out for new flooring. Reviewers describe Joe as detail-oriented and dependable, and several specifically mention Katy handling scheduling and communication — more than one review calls the pricing reasonable and the estimate process straightforward, and multiple customers say they've already lined up their next project with the pair. There's an older account worth knowing about, too: in a 2023 Houzz review, a customer who paid $20,000 for a front and back stair replacement and a new door said some of the materials that were supposed to be new looked used, comparing the finish to something already five years old. That's the one dissenting account among sixteen total reviews, and it's the only one that raises a specific concern about materials and value for a larger job. For smaller repairs and handyman-scale projects — gutters, doors, deck fixes, painting, small tile and flooring work — the recent, detailed praise here is consistent and current. For a bigger job closer in scope to that $20,000 stair replacement, it's worth discussing materials and expectations up front.
Really nice people. Fixed and cleaned out gutters quite fast, and popped all the leaves into a big bucket leaving the house free of the rubbish.
Quick, competent, and friendly service.
Joe was outstanding. Very caring as if his own home. Could tell he was good guy. Did the fix of our shower as planned and perfectly. His wife Katy was also dealing with. back office and kept us updated? Also very reasonable pricing. Why go anywhere else?
Very hard working and reliable. Would highly recommend their handyman services!!!
