Caruso struck out on his own after a four-year construction apprenticeship. The company's own site describes a wide-ranging practice — kitchen and bathroom work, decks, roofing, excavation and demolition, even year-round snow removal — across dozens of towns from Boston up through the North Shore. There isn't much of a public track record to check yet: Houzz and BuildZoom both show the company's profile with zero written customer reviews, and Google carries only three ratings. BuildZoom does record 26 building permits pulled under the owner's name going back to 2007, mostly pool and addition jobs well outside the immediate Boston area, which points to real construction activity even without customer testimonials. The company lists a Massachusetts contractor license, a home improvement registration, and a Lead-Safe Renovation license on its own site and on directories, though none of those numbers have been checked against the state registry here. Directories also disagree on where the business is actually based — Revere, Malden and Everett all show up as its address on different sites. Anyone considering J.B. Caruso is working with very little third-party feedback to go on, so it's worth asking directly about recent local jobs and confirming license status with the state before signing anything.
