Dalelis Mechanical — James A. Dalelis Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning — has run out of Norwood since 2009, according to the company, adding a full HVAC license and in-house HVAC team in 2013. James Dalelis still owns and runs it, and the reviews keep circling back to two names: his, and his longtime technician Nick's. What stands out across 94 Google ratings averaging 4.8 stars is speed on the bad-day calls. A no-heat morning, a dead AC unit during a heat wave, a boiler that quit the night before a deep freeze — reviewers describe a callback within minutes and a technician at the door within the hour, sometimes fifteen. One family called on a 90-degree day when their thermostat and AC quit; James had Nick on-site in fifteen minutes and the problem fixed within minutes of that. Another, mid-heat-wave, got a technician within the hour who replaced a capacitor and had cold air running again before the day was over. Pricing comes up unprompted and mostly favorably — reviewers repeatedly call quotes fair and competitive with no upselling, including a customer who priced a Combi Boiler hot-water-loop addition and used exactly that phrase. The record isn't spotless, though. In a July 2024 review, a customer said they weren't told about a $250 service-call fee before a technician diagnosed an aging AC unit as not worth fixing. In an October 2025 review, another described a booking that showed as available same-day online, then got pushed back two days after they'd flagged it as urgent. And in a July 2026 review, a homeowner described a coil installed too low near the furnace on a system put in about seven years earlier — it kept freezing over and eventually needed replacing. The work splits between plumbing and HVAC in roughly equal measure: water heater installs and repairs, frozen-pipe emergencies, a stuck laundry pump fixed the same afternoon, alongside furnace, boiler, heat pump and central AC jobs — including a full rooftop unit swap done by crane in about four hours. The Better Business Bureau lists the company at an A+ grade. Before booking, it's worth asking upfront what a service call costs if nothing turns out to need fixing, and confirming a same-day slot directly rather than relying on the online scheduler alone. For anything from a burst pipe to a dead furnace, the pattern across six years of reviews is a company that shows up fast and explains what it's doing while it's there.

Very efficient and professional job! Replacement standard outside faucet with a frost-free silcock to help prevent freezing and burst pipes during winter weather. How wonderful that they used an upgrade instead of a basic faucet. Thank you. Susanne Taylor Damon
Highly recommend this company! I rarely write a review, but my experience from start to finish is worth mentioning. My water heater was gushing water into my basement early in the morning so I called Jason Dalelis Plumbing out of Norwood and got an answer right away. Jason answered my questions and gave an estimate over the phone for a couple options to replace the broken water heater. He was up front and didn’t try to upsell me extra stuff related to my older 1880s home. The plumber, Nick, showed up that same morning and assessed the situation, took pics and answered my questions. They offered a same day repair to replace the water heater or next morning upgrade to a tankless option without charging extra for it needing to be fixed ASAP. Jason took care of the permits and scheduled the building inspector to come at a convenient time for my schedule. The repair was done on time and ahead of schedule. They even upgraded my water heater to a 50 gallon size at no extra charge and updated some fixtures in the basement. The work area was left clean and tidy. Thanks for your solid work, I’ll definitely call you again for any future repairs.
I had this HVAC system installed by this company about 7 years ago. I expected it to last much longer before experiencing a major failure, but the AC stopped working due to leak and required a new coil and condenser. I was disappointed by the lifespan of the system and expected better durability for such a large investment. Based on my experience, I can’t recommend this company. I had two professional HVAC service guys tell me the same thing that the person who did the install tell me the coil was installed improperly (too low to the furnace). The coil keeps freezing and the AC doesn’t cool down the house. Every year or two I service the AC. The second year they had to refill the refrigerant therefore the leak happened at least two years from install.
Called James after our AC quit on us during a heat wave. He answered the phone (not a call service) and had someone at the house within an hour to repair it. Tech was friendly, professional, and very thorough. Glad we called James!
James A. Dalelis Plumbing & HVAC responded to our initial call within 2hrs. Nick & Elias were very polite and professional. These gentlemen troubleshot our Goodman central A/C unit and replaced the capacitor and charged the unit with Freon. The A/C unit is now running at full capacity, once again cooling our home. My Wife & I are Very Pleased with the professional service rendered by Nick & Elias of James A. Dalelis Plumbing & HVAC . We DEFINITELY would recommend this company and these Gentlemen for any and all plumbing needs. Thank You 🙏 Paul & Joan Ellis Norwood
