Jenkins Trucking is a Marblehead hauling outfit that people call to make big things go away — an old couch, the bulky items a regular trash pickup won't take. Steve is the name customers use when they call. The two written accounts pull hard in opposite directions, and that is the thing worth knowing. In a 2024 review, a customer who said they had used the company on and off for twenty years described calling Steve, having a crew come right down, and finding them fair and professional throughout. The other account, from a 2023 customer new to town, is a billing complaint with specifics: a ballpark price was quoted over the phone based on time and weight, the job then ran shorter than the estimate — and the bill came back at more than triple the quote. That customer took the second half of the job to a national junk-removal chain and said it cost far less. So: get the price in writing before anything is loaded. Ask exactly how it is calculated — by the hour, by weight, by truck volume — and what happens if the load is smaller or the job is quicker than estimated, because that is precisely where the 2023 complaint arose. A long local track record and a repeat customer of two decades sit on one side of the ledger; an unexplained bill sits on the other, and only a written estimate settles which one you get. Google shows 4 stars from four ratings, with only those two written accounts behind them. That is a thin record for a business that has been around this long, so lean on neighbors' word of mouth as much as on anything published here.

I called Steve and they came right down removed an old coach and some other big items. I have used them every once and a while over the past 20 years and they have always been fair and professional.

Call this company after moving to town was told on the phone at ballpark price for time and weight of items after job was done price of service was more than triple and time of service was less than we expected this I did not understand because the quote was for a certain amount of time and the job took less than the time he had given us but the price was more than triple for second part of this job we called 1 800 junk which was the best move I ever made because the price was so little compared to this company 1 800 junk is such a bigger company you would think it would be more but actually it was a fraction of the cost of this user beware beware you will receive a larger building told vol 1 800 junk and you will get the service that you pay for at a fraction of the cost the difference is in the thousands like me seeking to get some work done reads this and goes with 1 800 junk because sure these tough times people can use the money for more important things other than throwing it away to somebody who is basically just throwing numbers out there that nobody knows where they came from the cost of the Lord at the dump because I called is 200 and $15 for a ton I was charged more than 1,400 plus labor and service fees I see now why there is only 2 reviews most likely it's because nobody wants to use this company I wish that I would have taken my own advice and the I hope this is useful and helps at least one person it would be worth it for me if it does
