North Shore Hauling & Junk Removal LLC works out of Beverly, and the numbers are hard to ignore: Google shows 5 stars from 296 ratings, and the nine most recent reviews are just as lopsided — all five stars, all within the last two months. The company's own site frames it plainly as a junk removal and clean-out operation, run by Joseph DePamphilis, a North Shore native with prior small-business experience; it also lists small-scale moving help, like dorm rooms, studios, and single items, alongside its core hauling work. The recent reviews read like a pattern rather than a fluke. One customer's mother needed a storage unit in Gloucester emptied — a mattress, box spring, loveseat, and a handful of small items — and the crew showed up ten minutes early for the pickup window and waited patiently for the family to arrive. Another hired the company to empty a house ahead of open houses and then handle the final clean-out before closing, calling it something they "couldn't have done without them." A third had everything cleared within 90 minutes of a first text, at what they called a reasonable price. The name that keeps showing up is Joe — DePamphilis himself. One review describes texting him a photo of items to be hauled and getting a fair quote back, with his crew arriving within 30 minutes and finishing the job professionally. Others mention careful handling around walls, no mess left behind, and one job that included tearing down a large shed. Nothing in the last six months mentions a problem. Worth knowing before calling: this is a hauling and clean-out company first. Its own site is specific that the moving side of the business covers dorm rooms, studio apartments, single large items, and similar small jobs — not full household relocations. Anyone who actually needs a whole home packed and moved should confirm that's something the crew takes on, rather than assuming it from the "moving" label. For clearing out a storage unit, prepping a house for sale, hauling away old furniture or a shed, or moving a single big item, this reads like a well-regarded, fast-responding local outfit — text a photo, expect a same-day or next-day answer, and confirm upfront whether the specific job, especially anything closer to a full move, is one they handle.

My mother had a storage unit in Gloucester than needed cleaning out -- mattress and boxspring, loveseat sofa, and a few small misc items. We called on Friday and the man on the phone was very kind and helpful. We got an appointment for pickup the following day (Saturday). The next day, North Shore Hauling came right at the start of the pickup window and actually beat us to the storage unit by 10 minutes! The guys in the truck were very understanding and were OK waiting the 10 minutes for us to arrive. They went into the unit with us, took photos of the items we'd previously disclosed over the phone and even agreed to take some extra furniture my mother decided she didn't need at the last minute (desk & dresser). The two men got everything into the truck within 10 minutes and checked with us repeatedly to make sure there wasn't anything they missed. Payment was easy -- I gave them a credit card and they swiped it on their phone and texted me a receipt. We were shocked at how inexpensive it was considering they came to us and did all the heavy lifting. They took 5 pieces of furniture and it was less than $500. I'd use North Shore Hauling again no question.

North Shore Hauling was a savior during the process of selling a home for me. They emptied out a bunch of stuff to get us ready for open houses etc. Then helped us for our final clean out. Definitely couldn't have done it without them. I have used other Junk removal and North Shore is just different. You can present them with a problem and they will solve it. They are communicative, punctual just a great company. I couldn't recommend enough.

Within an hour and a half of my initial text, these guys had already cleared away everything - and for a super reasonable price. They were fantastic!

North Shore Hauling did a great job! They were able to come on a date that worked for us and the two guys were very efficient and done very quickly. They were very careful about our walls and left nothing behind. We will definitely use them again!
