The one written account of JP Remodeling is a detailed one. In July 2023 a homeowner had John Polizzotti convert a half-bath into a full bath with a shower. Everything had to be moved and a window had to come out, and the reviewer wrote that once the cedar shingles went back on the exterior you would never know the window had been there. They said the space works so much better that the bathroom actually feels bigger, that he held to the schedule he had given, and that his recommendations on flooring and fixtures were spot on. That review is also the whole customer record. The Google listing carries a single five-star rating, the Houzz profile shows no ratings at all, and a remodeling directory carries an undated note from someone who used the company for a bathroom remodel and described the work as professional. The company reads as long-established from every direction. Its own site says it was founded in 1989 and does 90% of the remodeling and construction work itself rather than subcontracting it out. Its Better Business Bureau profile grades it A+, reports 37 years in business, and notes it is not BBB accredited. Houzz likewise lists it as established in 1989, serving the Boston metro area. The site names a wide North Shore service area, from Gloucester and Essex down through Salem, Beverly, Marblehead and Nahant. Both its own site and its Houzz profile describe the company as licensed and insured, covering plumbing and electrical work — that is their wording and the directory's, not something checked against the state registry. No rating is given here, because one review, however specific, is not a basis for judging a builder of this vintage. If the 2023 bathroom conversion resembles the job you have, it is a reasonable reason to call. Then ask John for the Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration and construction supervisor licence numbers, look them up yourself on the state's Contractor Hub, and ask for three recent references in your own town.
JP converted a half-bath of mine, into a full bath (shower) and made the use of the space so much better, that the bathroom actually feels bigger. Everything had to be moved and a window have to be removed. You would never know that window was ever there: the cedar shingles on the outside match perfectly! He kept to the time schedule he gave me, right from day one. His recommendations for flooring and fixtures was spot-on. He was always pleasant. And the work was the highest quality. The bathroom is one that I'm very proud of. I was so happy with the work done by JP, that I had him do additional work: removing a through-the-wall air conditioner, replacing missing trim in a bedroom (matching the old trim which is not made any more), and dry-wall plastering in my dining room. I highly recommend JP Remodeling & Construction for your projects!
