Kuhlman Electric

We hired Kuhlman to eliminate and replace the ancient knob-and-tube wiring from our three-family house, and we were very pleased with their work. The electricians, Ervis Bushi and José Bahena Salazar, were consummate professionals from start to finish. They were efficient and friendly, and communicated clearly and regularly with us about the work plan, explaining everything fully and answering our many questions. They arrived on time every day and cleaned up attentively; they covered our furniture and belongings with plastic tarps to minimize the inevitable dust and debris that results from having to make holes to run the new wiring, and even vacuumed or mopped the floors when the work was done. It was a long job (2.5 weeks), but it is a testament to Ervis and José’s work that we were happy to see them every morning. If you have old wiring that needs replacing — in our case, we had to replace it in order to install better insulation — or other electrical work, especially on an older house, we would recommend Kulhman (and Ervis and José in particular) for the job.

Justin evaluated my backup generator (which turned out to be a boat anchor) and gave me thoughtful estimates on adding a car charger and another outlet for one of my bathrooms. Justin is personable, professional, and clearly an expert electrician.

I’ve been a customer of Kuhlman Electric since 2015, and they continue to impress me over the last 10 years. Colin Martin, John Traversy, and Matt Kilroy worked on a complex two unit system upgrade over the course of 3 1/2 days for myself and my neighbor, with Joe Russo coordinating the initial evaluation and estimate. We’re in a split townhouse situation in Historic Salem. Joe was extremely helpful in helping us coordinate with the Salem Historic Commission in order to get approval, while Colin, John, and Matt performed the entire system upgrade. I was so impressed by the professionalism, kindness, and courteousness of all members of the crew. Matt kept me informed every step of the way, and they were able to apply the equipment to the exterior meeting the conditions of the Commission. They were also mindful of my three cats that were very curious about their comings and goings. Additionally they were less than half the price of Cranney.

Kuhlman just did a rewiring job at my home and it went more smoothly than I could have imagined. Everything was so well organized, from scheduling to the work itself. Niko, Andrew (no hablo espanol, perdon), and Tyler were "the best". Communication was excellent, from keeping me informed to patiently answering questions to the final documentation. As a bonus they were easy to be around. Definitely would recommend. Someone ought to clone Niko, Andrew, and Tyler.
