Ledbetter Electric is a two-generation family shop out of West Roxbury — Paul, and before him his father — with a review history that runs deep and stays remarkably consistent: 62 Google reviews since 2021, every single one five stars. The jobs range from a burnt-out bulb to a full main-service upgrade, and the same name comes up in almost every account: Paul, personally, on the phone or at the door. The record leans heavily on responsiveness under pressure. In a 2023 review, a homeowner smelling burning wiring from a ceiling fixture said Paul skipped his lunch break to come look at it immediately, worried about fire. Another 2023 account describes him walking a customer through resetting a circuit breaker over the phone mid-call to restore power to most of the house, then following up in person to finish the repair. A 2025 review described a full main-service upgrade and complete kitchen rewire in an older house, with the homeowner calling every part of the process — quality, communication, and Paul's own explanations — beyond what they expected. The specifics keep piling up across the years: ceiling fans, recessed lighting, sub-panel installs, Ring security cameras, dimmer switches, grounding old outlets in houses that predate modern code. Several reviewers mention using Ledbetter more than once, and one 2022 review recommended both Paul and his father by name, describing them as a family business with "old school values." There's no negative account anywhere in the written history, and the last six months alone brought six more five-star reviews. For anything from a stuck outlet to a full electrical panel upgrade in an older Boston-area home, this is about as consistent a record as a homeowner is likely to find — the main thing worth confirming directly is scheduling, since reviewers repeatedly mention Paul being fully booked.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Ledbetter electric. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
Standard receptacle swaps — a new dedicated circuit is a bigger job ($350–$750).
Flush mounts, pendants, chandeliers — hung on existing boxes.

Typical electrical project around $820
Paul was able to change out our transformer pretty quickly. Our video doorbell works great now!
I am new to the area, I took a chance on Paul and Ledbetter partly based on the reviews here. I was also looking for a family business opposed to a big company because I didn’t want to roll the dice and end up paying for some kid that just left trade school that thinks he knows everything. I first brought Paul in during my home inspection to look over the electrical. Paul is very thorough and puts emphasis on doing things the right way. I like that because I want things to be done the right way and when I don’t know necessarily how to do things, I want to bring someone in that’s an expert in their field to do it quality work. His inspection put my concerns at ease and gave me the confidence that the electrical in the house could support my vision. Paul and his team came in after I purchased the home and completed various jobs for us: bathroom exhaust fans, Electical service upgrade, electrical for the heat pump installation and electrical in my newly built detached garage shop. I couldn’t be happier with how all the work turned out. He is my go to guy now for electrical work. Paul does things the right way with high-quality materials, while keeping in mind and positioning you well for future changes or expansions. His prices are fair for the quality of work and materials we received. I like doing things in a quality way so I don’t have to do them again and again, that’s the same mentality that they have at Ledbetter. I’m glad I didn’t take a chance on a different company. Thanks guys!!!
Paul was knowledgeable and quick with his work. He was prompt arrival and his communication was excellent. I would recommend!
Huge shoutout to Paul and the crew at Ledbetter Electric. Honestly one of the best contractor experiences we’ve had. Paul is incredibly professional and knowledgeable, but also super easy to talk to. He took the time to walk us through everything, explain options, and make thoughtful suggestions that we hadn’t even considered. Nothing felt rushed or pushy — just really fair, honest guidance and good advice. The team upgraded our electrical panel, replaced a bunch of older wiring, and installed recessed ceiling lights throughout the house. They also removed a few old ceiling fans and outdated light fixtures, which honestly opened up the rooms way more than we expected. The new recessed lighting completely changed the feel of the space. We went from relying on lamps everywhere to having clean, bright lighting that actually makes the house feel warm and inviting. The electricians on Paul’s team (shoutout to Brandon...he's awesome) were fantastic — friendly, respectful, clearly very skilled, and they kept everything tidy while they worked. They showed up when they said they would, stayed on schedule, and the quality of the work is excellent. You can tell they take real pride in what they do. If you’re looking for an electrician who’s reliable, fair, and genuinely cares about doing high-quality work, I can’t recommend Paul and Ledbetter Electric enough. We’ll absolutely be calling them again for future projects.
