MacLellan Plumbing & Heating is a family-run Weymouth shop serving the South Shore — Weymouth, Braintree, Milton, Hingham and Quincy. Martin (Marty) MacLellan owns it; the BBB's profile puts the business's start at 1985, though the company's own site describes itself as in business 25-plus years — the two accounts of its founding don't match. Its record on file is thin, just five reviews spanning 2021 to 2025, but the earlier ones describe attentive, knowledgeable service. A 2023 review credits the team with diagnosing and fixing a leaking furnace efficiently. A 2022 review describes a same-day callback even when no appointment slot was open, with useful advice and referrals offered instead. And a 2021 review says Marty explained installation questions in detail. The most recent review, from August 2025, is a serious one: a customer says a leaking toilet tank was repaired three separate times — October 2024, May 2025, and again weeks later — with the leak returning each time, and nearly $450 paid for a problem still unresolved as of the review. Its BBB grade is A+, though it isn't a BBB-accredited business. Given the toilet-repair account, it's worth asking directly about warranty terms and a clear resolution plan if a repair doesn't hold.

I hired Marty to do a toilet tank repair because it was leaking. And the first repair happened in October 2024 . The first fix only lasted from October 2024 to May 2025(around 7 months). They come in again to replace the seal again because the toilet is leaking again in May 2025. Unfortunately, the leak has returned yet again as of late July 2024, despite both prior repairs. This second repair lasted barely 2 months. At this point, I’ve paid nearly $450, and I’m still left with the same unresolved issue. That’s incredibly frustrating, especially since this was supposed to be a straightforward fix. The owner refuse to take ownership on his work and blame it on everything else. So please do not hire this company.
Responsive. Fixed our leak quickly. Super. Won't use anyone else.
I can't say enough about MacLellan Plumbing and Heating. They went over and above helping me figure out a leaking furnace problem and then repaired it efficiently. The technicians were helpful, knowledgeable and courteous. VERY high praises for this company. Maureen A.
Great customer service. I left a message asking for a visit. They called back the same day, and even though they did not have the availability to come and provide service, they took the time to discuss the issue with me at length and provided useful advice, feedback and proposed alternative service providers.
Marty is experienced and explained every bit of process and installation questions in details. Highly recommend.
