Fifty permitted projects on file, about forty-one of them in the last three years — and a customer list that keeps circling back. The pattern that repeats in Meyer and Sons Builders' reviews is the second hire: in a December 2025 review, one family counted an addition, a screened porch, a deck and a finished basement over ten years, then said their second call after a 2024 house fire was to Trevor Meyer, who was on site the next day for a rebuild that went down to the interior studs.
The company works out of West Dennis and describes itself as a Cape Cod design/build firm — custom homes, remodels and additions, plus septic design, solar, HERS energy ratings and ADU work. Houzz lists it as family-owned, a two-generation Cape Cod firm, and a 2022 Cape Cod Life piece described Trevor Meyer taking over his father's design-build firm in 2014. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active.
What homeowners describe is process more than flourish. Reviewers writing in late 2024 pointed to a price quoted up front that held unless they added scope, with changes routed through a signed update first; a 2025 reviewer remodeling from out of town credited the company's online portal for keeping the job legible from a distance. Permitting comes up again and again — a 2025 reviewer with an unusual lot said the town itself paid Trevor a compliment during the process. Two separate homeowners, writing in mid-2024 and December 2025, describe fire rebuilds handled end to end from clean-out through finish. Across 21 Google ratings the average sits at 4.8.
Not everything here is positive, and the sharpest complaint is also the newest. In April 2026 a homeowner wrote that Darren Meyer prepared and stamped an engineering plan for a leaching field in 2021 stating the property had town water when it is on a well, that they were never asked about the water source and the town was never checked with, and that he refuses to take responsibility — leaving them required to hook up to town water. That is one account, and it is the only review posted in the past six months, but it lands squarely on the septic-design side of a business that advertises septic work.
For a Cape addition, a whole-house remodel, or a rebuild after fire or water damage, this is a firm with a real permit history and a lot of repeat business behind it. Before signing, ask who stamps any engineering or septic plan, what verification of site conditions goes into it, and how a design error gets corrected if one surfaces.

Darren Meyer did the engineering plan for my Leaching Field in 2021 and completed it incorrectly stating I had Town Water when I have well water. The plans were stamped and signed by him. I was never asked about my water source and he never contacted the town to verify. He refuses to take any responsibility and now I am required to hook up to town water due to the location of the well.
We have worked with Meyer and Sons on 2 projects over the last 10 years. They completed a family room addition, screened in porch and deck. They also remodeled our basement, adding a family/pool table room. After experiencing a house fire in 2024, our first call was to our insurance company, and our second call was to Trevor. His immediate response found him on site the following day assessing the damage.
Our house was demoed down to the interior studs and Trevor guided us through the entire rebuilding process, including upgrading our HVAC equipment to current code and recommending some design enhancements. His idea to vault the ceiling in the living room/kitchen of our 1978 ranch style home created a space that appears much larger than the actual footprint. Particularly noteworthy is the work of the finish carpenters. With Meyer & Sons guidance we were able to take internet design pictures of a fireplace wall and a bathroom and transform those areas into amazing features of the house.
Through the entire rebuild Trevor was able to keep us on budget and on schedule.
We highly recommend Meyer & Sons for any construction needs. Their work exceeds expectations. Family and friends are amazed at the transformation and we are extremely happy with the results.

I contracted with Meyer and Sons 3 years ago when I purchased a condo in Kings Way.
I had a very short window in which to hire a General Contract and get the work completed as my home had sold in a day. The condo needed a complete upgrade including opening walls, new kitchen, new bathroom, new floors, stair railings and the entire unit needed to be painted. They were very responsive and had estimates out to me immediately and we were able to lock up the budget quickly. Working with their preferred vendors was a pleasure they made the process of selecting cabinets, floors and finishes easy and the quality of their products was great. Their project manager was very insightful when it came to the design esthetic I was going for.
