Keeping an existing floor can be part of Milford Hardwood Floors’ work, alongside installing a new one. In a September 2024 Google review, a customer who had planned to replace all the carpeting said David recommended stretching and cleaning most of it instead. The customer followed that advice and reported saving thousands. The same account described new stair carpet matched to the existing carpet, plus hardwood floors sanded, stained and refinished after years of scratches. The company says it is family-owned and has been in business since 1988. It sells and installs hardwood, laminate, luxury vinyl plank and stair flooring, and offers sanding, refinishing and repairs. Its stated service area includes Milford, Medway, Mendon, Hopkinton and Franklin. Google lists a 4.8-star average from 65 ratings. Recent customers describe both installation and refinishing. A May 2026 reviewer praised new luxury vinyl plank floors and iron stair balusters, calling the price reasonable. In July 2026, Kathy and Steve Morreale thanked Peter and Julie for help choosing what to do and specifically praised Charlie’s sanding and finishing. A customer writing in February 2026 described hardwood refinishing with a stain matched to the kitchen floor and credited Charlie with the result. Matching old and new surfaces also mattered in an August 2025 review. That customer described two separate installations: hardwood fitted while they were away on vacation, with no mess left behind, and upstairs flooring matched to existing stair treads. For the second installation, the customer said the company offered a two-day approach so furniture could move between rooms when all four rooms could not be cleared at once. Julie’s help with flooring choices comes up in several dated accounts. A February 2026 reviewer said she helped narrow the luxury vinyl options and communicated throughout the process; they credited JP with the installation. In December 2024, another customer praised Julie’s coordination of wood delivery and follow-up a few hours after installation, and said Emerson and his crew left the upstairs spotless. There is also a missed appointment complaint. In a March 2024 Google review, a prospective customer said nobody arrived at the agreed time to provide a quote. They reported getting no response to a follow-up email and hiring another company.
“Atherton has run her father’s flooring store, Milford Hardwood Floors, for 22 years, but she also works in the box office at one of Mendon’s most famous attractions: Mendon Twin Drive-In.”
“The organization also extended a special thank you to Julie Atherton of Milford Hardwood Floors for her generous contribution.”
Outstanding company. From owner Peter all the way to Julie who is the real boss… this place is wonderful. So helpful in choosing what to do - and gave welcome suggestions and opinions… The workmen they hire are great - especially Charlie who sanded and finished our flooring. We can’t say enough good things and will use them again if the need arises. (Hopefully!). Thanks Peter and Julie - you guys are just awesome! Kathy and Steve Morreale. Before and after photos
Could not be happier with our new LVP floors & iron stair balusters! Everyone here made the process so easy and the price was very reasonable. Our home feels so much nicer and elevated now. I would not hesitate to come back here for any of our future flooring/stair needs!
We are so happy with our new flooring! Anderson did an awesome job with the install. We will definitely use them again in the future!
Great company!!
We had our hardwood floors sanded and refinished, including stain matching to our kitchen floor, and couldn’t be happier with the results. Charlie did an excellent job, the color match is perfect and the floors look beautiful. Highly recommend!
