Ten people have written about Nick O'Brien, and eight describe the same one-man operation: turns up fast, works clean, quotes fairly. Two describe something else entirely, and both are worth reading before you call. Start with the work. A homeowner writing in November 2022 said he wired an entire two-bed, one-bath in-law apartment, hung indoor and outdoor fixtures, fitted dimmers, and put a Bluetooth speaker-light-fan unit in the bathroom. In February 2023 another customer had a failing thermostat taken apart, repaired and rebuilt on the spot, and called him responsive and accommodating about scheduling. A March 2023 reviewer who came through a referral described a reasonably priced estimate followed by fast, tidy work on a handful of small jobs. In November 2024 someone brought him in at the eleventh hour of a project and got quick attendance and fair pricing. Now the other two. In December 2023 a reviewer wrote in capitals not to hire him, saying his communication is awful, that he doesn't show when he says he's going to, and that he leaves the space a mess — the reverse of what the five-star accounts describe. In May 2024 a second one-star reviewer alleged something different again: that they paid $600 for an item bought from him through Facebook and it never shipped, calling him a scammer. That allegation concerns a private sale rather than electrical work, and it is one person's account, but it sits on his Google profile and it is a large part of why the average reads 4.1 rather than 5. What that adds up to is a small operator whose happy customers are specific and consistent, set against a reliability complaint that is just as specific. Nothing has been written about him since November 2024. If you call him, pin the schedule down in writing, agree what happens if the day slips, and pay through a channel that gives you recourse. Ask for his electrician licence number and check it with the Board of State Examiners of Electricians before any work starts.
Nick was a pleasure to work with. Came timely to get the job done in the 11th hour of a project . Fair pricing and very knowledgeable. Highly recommended
Scammer, bought something from his on Facebook for $600, never shipped it, just full of excuses. Stay away don't trust this guy.
WARING!!!! I ADVISE YOU, DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN!!!. His communication is awful, he doesn't show when he says he's going to and he leaves the space a mess.
Nick was very knowledgeable and came out quickly. Highly recommend him! We will use him again.
Fast, efficient and clean! Great communication and reasonable prices Through a referral from another happy customer we hired Nick to do a few small jobs around the house. From the start he was professional with great communication and estimate was reasonable priced. On the day of service he was fast, efficient and clean.
