Five stars, 461 times over. What is striking about Northeast Heating & Cooling's Google page is not the average but how ordinary the jobs behind it are: annual tune-ups, a furnace that quit in January, an AC that stopped cooling right before the heat. The Haverhill company's reviews read less like one-off service calls and more like a standing arrangement. Customers name the technician who showed up — Reese, Jose, Tony, Eric, Jimmy — and frequently note it is the same person who came last season. One homeowner counted more than three years of having the same company service their system. Punctuality is the through-line. Review after review opens on the same beat: arrived on time, called ahead, texted when on the way. In June a customer described Tony Ramos arriving right on schedule for the annual tuneup, running a full inspection, getting the AC working again and then testing it to be sure. Another had Reese work through every indoor unit and the outdoor equipment, rinsing condensers and coils and reporting back on the condition of each one. When something fails, the turnaround is quick — one homeowner lost power in February, called, and had the furnace repaired on the spot. The sales conversation draws the same kind of comment. A homeowner comparing proposals in March had David walk the options on site and produce a quote the same day. Another was told an aging system did not need replacing. Credentials are simple to check: its Massachusetts HVAC license, 13-SM-B, is active on the state registry, and its BBB page carries an A+. The review history reaches back to 2017 across several sites, so this is a long record rather than a recent burst. One thing to know before calling: a good share of this praise comes from customers on the company's twice-yearly maintenance agreement, fall for heating and spring for cooling, so that plan is worth asking about up front and pricing against how often you actually need service. If what you want is a shop that sends the same technician back every season, explains what it found, and answers the phone the day the heat goes out, this is a straightforward call. Ask how the maintenance agreement is structured, and get the scope of any replacement quote in writing before work starts.

Reese was very thorough, professional and polite. He inspected all my indoor units and outside, including rinsing off condensers and coils. I was apprised of the condition of all units. He recommended a deep cleaning of an indoor unit, which I will set up. This is the second time I’ve used Northeast with 2 different technicians. They are far superior to the company I used previously. Top notch!
