Seven building permits in three years, spread across Chatham, Harwich, Eastham, Orleans and South Dennis — that is the shape of Outermost Building & Renovations, a small outer-Cape builder working out of Towhee Lane in Orleans. BuildZoom puts the typical job around $75,000, which tracks with what people actually hire them for: additions and whole-room rebuilds, not patch jobs. Ben Dill runs it. By the company's own account he came to Cape Cod after attending Oregon State, spent several years with a custom home builder, then started his own shop; BBB records the incorporation as June 2019 and lists him as president with one employee. The subcontracted crew turns up in the reviews themselves — a November 2024 homeowner credited Ben and his subs for an addition that put an oversized one-car garage with a studio apartment and full bath above it, alongside an expanded kitchen, a master bedroom and a finished basement below. The written history runs 2019 through 2026 without a bad note in it: 5.0 across 10 reviews on Angi, the identical set HomeAdvisor publishes, and 5.0 from three on Google. Two things repeat. One is communication — a January 2025 Google reviewer who had used him on several projects singled out staying on schedule, and a 2022 kitchen remodel review described him answering right away and his subcontractors coming back to fix what wasn't right. The other is finish work: 14 new windows and a six-foot room extension in a 2019 job, and a garage loft turned into a fully built-out room with bath in April 2025, which the homeowner said came in on budget. In January 2026 a customer wrote that the company built their house in Brewster. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active — number 196700, confirmed against the state registry. Angi and HomeAdvisor separately list a construction supervisor licence, CS-113952, expiring in April 2027; that is their listing rather than a verification. The BBB page carries an A+ with no complaints, though the company is not BBB accredited. Two things to raise on the call. Angi and HomeAdvisor both note the company offers no warranty, so pin down what stands behind the work after the final invoice. And a 2020 reviewer — pleased overall, and the only score below five — advised that work managed at a distance needs careful follow-up, inspections and a written punch list; worth agreeing up front on how the final walkthrough gets handled. The right call for a Cape Cod addition, a screened porch, or a room rebuilt from the studs where the schedule matters. Half the written reviews are now five or six years old, so ask for recent local references before signing.
