MAZZEO Construction LLC

Mazzeo Construction is an Orleans, MA design-build outfit run by founder Aleks Mazzeo, who moved to the U.S. from Poland in 2003 and has worked in building and remodeling since 2008; the company itself has been operating since 2009 with nine employees today. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, verified against the state registry, and the company holds an A+ rating with a Better Business Bureau accreditation that started this spring. The reviews describe full-scale Cape Cod renovation work: a Dennis Port full-house renovation that touched the kitchen, two bathrooms, floors, HVAC, insulation and a tankless water heater; an 1,100-square-foot addition that added a living room, bedroom, loft, bathroom, garage and rec room to a converted 1950s cottage; a second-floor deck rebuild with Azek Timbertech materials. One reviewer describes Mazzeo stepping in to stabilize a 180-year-old barn once the crew opened it up and found the structural damage was worse than the architect, the engineer, or Mazzeo's own team had expected. Communication comes up again and again — weekly texted schedules, quick responses to questions, one homeowner noting Aleks got back to them promptly even while on vacation overseas. The record isn't spotless. In a 2025 review, a customer hired Mazzeo to tile two showers and says the promised few-month timeline stretched to five months, with poor communication that left them stepping in to manage the subcontractors themselves — the two-star review notes the finished tile work still met their expectations. In a January 2026 review, an extensive remodel ran into budget overruns and some quality issues that the customer says Aleks addressed and corrected as they came up, and the reviewer still called the end result something they were very pleased with. Separately, a March 2026 one-star review calls the employees 'extremely rude' without offering a specific incident. For a homeowner sizing up a larger renovation or addition, Mazzeo's track record leans heavily toward big, detailed projects finished well — worth asking directly about project timelines and how communication is handled day to day, given the one recurring theme in the less positive reviews.
