Nineteen homeowners have written about Mazzeo Construction since 2023, and the ones with the biggest jobs write the longest reviews: an 1,100-square-foot addition grafted onto a 1952 cottage, whole-house remodels, and a 180-year-old barn stabilized after the damage turned out worse than the architect, the engineer and the crew expected. The company works out of Orleans on Cape Cod and says it was founded by Aleks Mazzeo, who moved to the United States from Poland in 2003 and has been building and remodeling since 2008, with Bryan Byrne and Michael Clough running projects. Alongside design-build and remodeling it also offers pools, custom saunas and cold plunges, home and business cleaning, and small handyman work.
Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 170232, is verified active with the state registry, held by Aleksandra Mazzeo. The Better Business Bureau accredited the business in April 2026, grades it A+, and additionally lists a construction supervisor licence, CS-117432, expiring in April 2028 — that one is a directory listing rather than something confirmed against the state registry.
Google's 21 ratings average 4.6 stars, and the praise is unusually concrete. Homeowners describe an addition of almost 1,000 square feet where the subcontractors were professional and on time, a second-floor deck rebuilt in Azek Timbertech with modern railings (a June 2025 review), and a full Dennis Port renovation covering kitchen, two bathrooms, floors throughout, deck repair, HVAC, insulation and a tankless water heater (October 2023). Communication is the thread running through them: a January 2026 customer wrote that Mazzeo either stopped by or texted and emailed the week's schedule at every stage, and a September 2023 reviewer said anything found below standard or code was sent back to be redone.
The complaints are worth reading first. A June 2025 customer who hired the company to tile two showers said it was promised within a few months, took five, and that they had to step in and manage the contractors themselves; the finished work met their expectations, the communication did not. A January 2026 reviewer on an extensive remodel — a wall removed, three bathrooms, a kitchen, new windows and siding — was pleased with the result but raised budget overages and vendor quoting delays along the way. A one-star review in March 2026 said only that employees were extremely rude.
This is a sensible call for a Cape Cod addition or a whole-house renovation where one company coordinates the trades, and a less obvious one for a small tiled bathroom on a firm deadline. Before booking, confirm the construction supervisor licence directly with the state, get the schedule and the change-order process in writing, and ask who your day-to-day point of contact will be.

Mazzeo Construction completed an 1100 sq ft addition and updates to our current home creating a seamless transition from 1952 cottage to year round home. Aleks and their team of skilled craftspeople brought our vision to life with no detail left untouched. Communication was always key and we were never left unanswered. We added a living room, bedroom, loft, bathroom, garage, and rec room in our addition. Every room is used all the time and no one can even tell the old from the new! There’s not enough room here to write how great Mazzeo is as a company but the best rec has come from the 3 neighbors currently using Mazzeo for their additions, renovations and a new build!
