A small Eastham lot became a cottage with built-in bunks, custom benches and an outdoor shower, according to a February 2026 Google reviewer who worked with architect Peter Haig and Dave Bushnell’s building team. The customer described making use of decks and basement areas to accommodate the lot’s space limits, along with custom woodwork throughout the home. Architectural Design says it combines residential and commercial architecture in Orleans with construction management through its affiliated AD Build business. Its stated work includes additions, renovations, new construction and historic preservation. The firm says John Ingwersen, Andrew Miao and Peter Haig founded the architecture practice in 1986 and that it expanded into design-build services in 2015. It identifies Haig as principal architect and David Bushnell as the construction supervisor leading AD Build’s construction management team. Customers have described both new homes and substantial renovations. In a September 2023 Google review, a homeowner said Haig and Bushnell designed and renovated their hundred-year-old Cape Cod home; pleased with the craftsmanship, they were beginning another project with the firm. An October 2024 Houzz reviewer also praised the design and completed construction of a cottage. A longer account from October 2019 described renovating a home from the foundation up while the customers lived several hours from the Cape. The reviewer said Peter developed a design that respected the original exterior and neighboring homes, worked with the National Seashore on compliance, and coordinated with AD Build. The customer credited the online project system with tracking decisions, deadlines and the budget, and said Dave regularly uploaded progress photos and was available for calls and meetings. In a November 2016 Houzz review, another homeowner described Architectural Design working with Goff Brothers Construction Company on a new home, including ideas to improve the design and reduce costs. Google and Houzz each list a 4.9-star average. BBB gives AD Build an A+ grade and identifies it as a business without BBB accreditation.
