Parkway Oil Co. Inc. delivers home heating oil and works on central air, according to its own site, which says it has been in business 30 years and lists a service area running from Bridgeport and Stamford to Milford and Monroe. A 2025 customer said they had used the company for more than 20 years and that it delivered when it said it would. A 2025 reviewer wrote that Parkway Oil was the only company willing to install the piping they specified from a new above-ground oil tank to the furnace and hot water heater. A 2025 customer said they had used it for over 5 years, including for fall oil boiler tune-ups. A 2023 customer said they called on a Wednesday, the oil came that Friday, and the company matched the price. A recent customer said service tech Billy told them an A/C unit's pan did not need cleaning during a tune-up and offered to clean it for an extra hour's charge. A 2026 customer said the driver refused to walk over snow to reach the oil fill. A 2025 customer who called on a Monday with an empty tank said the company would not deliver before Thursday, leaving them without heat or hot water. A 2025 reviewer said phone staff were rude on multiple calls over two months. A 2023 customer said the company delivered oil to the wrong tank. A 2022 customer said the driver left a receipt in the mailbox but the tank stayed empty.
“Contractors extract oil spilled from a tanker operated by Parkway Oil Co. of Fairfield. the dirver was not injured, but fined. officials are testing nearby well water for contamination. Monroe, CT, Jan. 31, 2017”
“Smith, now vice president of the family-owned Parkway Oil Co., Thursday denied any wrongdoing and said he believes he is only being prosecuted because the woman's son, state Auditor Robert Jaeckle, is "pushing political buttons."”
Yesterday I had their service tech Billy do a tune-up on my A/C unit. I was told by the woman in service that the inside of the unit would be cleaned as I told her there was debris on the bottom of the pan (and it was included in the tune-up). When Billy came he told me that it doesn't need to be cleaned, that debris does not affect the unit. I told him I really wanted it cleaned and he rudely told me he would charge me for an extra hour to clean it. After he left I went online and it was clear that in order for the unit to function properly, the bottom most definitely should be cleaned during a tune up. I contacted another HVAC professional and they could not believe what he did. He told me that it definitely needs to be cleaned and that the coils should be cleaned from the inside out, not the way Billy did it from the outside in. He is going to provide me the correct service. When I contacted Parkway on their online "contact" tab to complain about the poor service I never heard back from them. To add insult to injury, Billy charged me $50 for 2 filters. I recently paid $13.45 for 2 at Home Depot. I was a heating oil customer of Parkway for many years, but this experience has really tainted my view of the company, I won't be returning.
It’s one of the best companies I use them for years
Parkway Oil has the worst customer service of any oil company I've ever dealt with. Plain and simple. Weather its home heating oil delivery, or their service dept. I'd avoid doing business with this company at all costs. 2 years back, I called them to come and take a look at my central air conditioning unit. Their technician came out, and told me i needed an entire new system and quoted me $16k for the job. I got a second opinion, and the other guy opened up the unit, replaces a small wire, and the units been running fine ever since. He charged me $100 Last week i placed an order for oil delivery, when the oil truck pulled up in from of my house, the driver refused to walk over the snow, to get to my oil fill. (he claimed that the snow covered ground was too dangerous and demanded that i plow a clear path for him) Meanwhile the company knew that i ran out of oil, and the level of urgency of that specific oil delivery. When i called to inform them of their lazy drivers actions, reminded them of my situation, they did nothing. People like this, shouldn't be in business. Spend your money elsewhere.
Great Service!!
I have been using Parkway Oil since I bought my house in 2015 (cause my mom used them prior) and today (Thursday) when I called for a somewhat urgent delivery, I was told Monday was the earliest they could deliver. I asked if they could get me in sooner as I knew I would run out (and didn't think it would be a hard request since I would imagine they allocate for customer emergencies and given I haven't called with an emergency maybe twice in 10 years so not a habitual offender) and was told NO. When I asked to speak to a Manager, I was told they would just tell me the same thing. Called somewhere else, who will be coming out Friday and for less money.
