Peter Vitale Electric is a one-man Waltham shop homeowners call for everything from a handful of new outlets to a full basement rewire. The company says it opened in 2008 and has been run by Peter Vitale, a Master Electrician, ever since, covering Eastern Massachusetts including Cape Cod. Google reviews running from 2023 through this year keep circling back to the same thing: he shows up quickly and leaves the work clean. Customers describe him handling a wide spread of jobs — recessed lighting and a full basement rewire with new outlets, switches and a TV mount; new dedicated circuits for a home gym and computer setup; rewiring a kitchen outlet for a switch from gas to induction cooking. In a 2023 review, a real estate agent under a tight closing deadline had him hardwire smoke detectors through an entire house to meet code, and he turned it around fast. More than one reviewer also mentions him pushing back on something unsafe rather than just doing what was asked. Before booking, it's worth confirming he covers your specific town, since the stated service area is broad (Eastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod) rather than a short list of named towns — and since this is a one-person operation, it's worth asking about his schedule up front for anything time-sensitive. He's a solid call for both small fixes and bigger rewiring projects, especially if you want the same person on-site from estimate to finish.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Peter Vitale Electric. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
Standard receptacle swaps — a new dedicated circuit is a bigger job ($350–$750).
Flush mounts, pendants, chandeliers — hung on existing boxes.

After having hired a handful of electricians in my area, Peter stands out as the best by a wide margin. He was responsive, easy going, and reasonable with is pricing. His work is quick and clean. He cares about his craft and the final product for his clients. Very happy with the results.
Peter is the perfect electrician. He’s professional and competent, friendly but focused, kindly advised us against doing something unsafe, and has the perfect “this old house” demeanor. We are so happy to have found him and will definitely call him for all of our electrical needs.
Peter has handled many electrical news for us over the past several years and we are always pleased with his work. He responds quickly to our needs and is a very pleasant man. Congenial is the the name we attach to his excellent work skills.we would recommend him highly to anyone that asks.
Pete is an excellent electrician. We hired him to do several wide-ranging jobs. His work has ranged from installing recessed lighting in one room to doing all the electrical work for our basement for a major renovation (including recessed lighting, outlets, switches, TV mounting, smoke detectors, and wiring throughout, all from scratch). He follows and knows the safest and newest practices. He is professional and a master of his craft. We will continue to hire and recommend Pete for all our electrical work.
Peter has done electrical work at our house several times over the past few years: he added three new dedicated circuits in our basement for gym and computer equipment, added the appropriate outlet in our kitchen when we switched from a gas to an induction stove, changed the ceiling fans in our bathrooms, and fixed issues with lights and outlets that had stopped working. We have been very happy with his work. He always gives a written quote in advance, arrives promptly, and is very easy to work with. We highly recommend him.
