A homeowner needed a TX valve replaced on an air conditioner in April 2024, and the big companies they called wanted to sell them a whole new system. Peter Paone came out and replaced the part. A customer that June, comparing him with other contractors in Boston, wrote that his quotes were reasonable where others "consistently gouge". Paone says he has been in HVAC for more than 20 years, starting as a high-school student helping his uncle, and still runs the company himself. Its stated service area reaches from Newburyport and Amesbury down through Peabody, Danvers, Saugus and Burlington, and the company describes its work as heating, air conditioning, ductless mini-splits, water heaters and general mechanical contracting, residential and commercial. Two of the jobs customers describe were emergencies. In January 2026 a furnace had to be replaced in a hurry; the homeowner wrote that Peter, Bobby and Mike finished on time, charged a reasonable price and were upfront about what was actually needed. A year earlier Bobby repaired a puncture in a customer's mini-split system, in a write-up that praised clear, direct communication. Two more customers came to him after bad experiences with other HVAC companies — one in February 2024, and one in August 2023 who had been referred by a general contractor for a two-family house's mini-split installation. A 2022 mini-split job started with several options laid out and finished on schedule. The company states EPA, OSHA and Cold Climate Heat Pump certifications, and lists itself in the Mass Save Heat Pump Installer Network; check that listing yourself if you are counting on heat-pump rebates. The written history here is nine accounts spread across four years, so ask for a recent reference for a job like yours. If you want someone who will diagnose the specific fault before quoting a replacement — mini-splits especially — Paone is the call; settle the rebate paperwork and the schedule before any equipment is ordered.
Had an emergency furnace-replacement job needed. Peter, Bobby, and Mike are just phenomenal! Not only is the job done on time and at a reasonable price, but the speed of communication, quality and transparency is top-notch work. Also, they were upfront in terms of what I need and don't need. Highly recommend them!
HVAC work was completed well. Appreciated the expertise and professionalism of the team.
Bobby (and another gentleman whose name i didn't get) provided outstanding service in an emergency repair to a puncture in my minisplit system. Clear and direct, professional, good communication, effective work
Peter and his crew are by far the most professional and ethical contractors I've come in contact with in Boston. His quote is always 100% reasonable whereas others seem to consistently gouge. He and his crew are very knowledgeable, efficient, candid, respectful, and deliver top quality. I'm a huge fan.
I needed someone to come fix my TX valve in my AC unit. Most big companies that I called wanted me to change the whole HVAC system. All I needed is for someone to come in and replace a small component. Peter is exactly the kind of guy I needed to come to fix my AC system. He's very knowledgeable and professional, and did the work very quickly and thoroughly. I will definitely call him back if I ever have a problem with my HVAC system.
