One customer will not have anyone else in the house: Jack is the only technician they request. Another, writing in June 2026, recognised him from a service call years earlier and said the thing that struck them after switching from their old HVAC company was that Precision keeps the same people.
Precision Home Services runs out of Northborough across Worcester County, the Blackstone Valley and MetroWest, with Grafton, Weston, Holden and Marlborough on its own list. Tim owns it, and the team page names an installation manager, a service manager, a master plumber and a master electrician alongside the service technicians. Longer-standing customers and a November 2023 Reddit thread still call it Precision Heating & Cooling.
High-efficiency heating and cooling is the centre of it — Mitsubishi ductless mini-splits, heat pumps and oil-to-gas conversions. A June 2026 customer replacing an old oil-fired hot air furnace was given several pricing options, gas conversion among them, plus the Mass Save paperwork; a Reddit commenter in November 2023 said Precision had done all their Mass Save paperwork too. In June 2023, a homeowner had two hybrid Bosch heat pumps and blowers fitted to work alongside an existing oil tank and furnace, evaluated by Tim and installed by Ed with his assistant Owen. One July 2026 customer has used them for everything: furnace, water heater and A/C maintenance, an outdoor faucet installed, an electrical breaker switch replaced.
Emergencies are where the maintenance plan shows up. When the heat went out before January 2026's biggest snowstorm, a club member got Josh to the house on a weekend evening. An A/C that quit on a hot Saturday night in June 2026 drew a callback from Ryan and a Sunday morning repair, tested several times before he left. In March 2026 a homeowner whose furnace was blowing smoke badly enough to bring the fire department wrote that they had spent about $2,000 with another company first.
Two accounts push the other way. In December 2025 a customer hired for a duct cleaning said the crew left the attic furnace switched off, so the house had no heat, and that another company had to put it right; they asked Precision for a dryer vent cleaning as a courtesy for the trouble. In July 2025 a reviewer separated the technician, whom they praised, from the company, which they said counts on customer ignorance, over an A/C that was not cooling. A May 2026 mini-split customer gave four stars, said the team worked cleanly and explained the units afterwards, and named one thing they wished had gone differently.
Google shows 4.9 across 1,093 ratings and the Better Business Bureau file is an A+. The company's own site publishes a master electrician number and a sheet metal number.
For a heat pump or mini-split project, an oil-to-gas conversion, or a maintenance plan that gets you seen on a snowstorm weekend, this is a large multi-trade outfit whose customers name the technician who came. Ask what the maintenance club covers and what priority it actually buys, and get the diagnosis in writing before you approve the repair.
