Quantum Leap Construction is a Newton, MA design-build outfit built for homeowners tackling a whole-home renovation, a major addition, or new construction rather than a single-room refresh, and its own site says it steers away from cosmetic-only jobs. It describes itself as founded in 2018 by Amr Hafez, who started out managing a real-estate investment portfolio before shifting his focus to construction, and Amr remains the owner and the registry holder of the company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, which is verified active. The written record is small but consistent: six Thumbtack and Google reviews from 2023 and 2024 run 5.0 stars straight through, with no complaints on file anywhere. In a 2023 Thumbtack review, a client described a two-phase, multi-room remodel where Amr coordinated subcontractors directly and adapted the plan mid-project when the family's ideas changed; another 2023 review credits him with handling site visits, material selection and design changes personally rather than handing the job off. In a 2024 review, a homeowner detailed a much larger scope - central air, a new third bathroom, a knocked-down wall, a kitchen island renovation, and a staircase converted into a mudroom - completed mostly on schedule aside from a few inspection redos, with regular WhatsApp photo updates sent while the family lived elsewhere. A separate 2023 review from someone who hired Amr for a client's project likewise praised the crew's punctuality and clean job sites. Worth asking about: how the company frames its own age. BBB lists the LLC as started and incorporated on 1/1/2024, giving it two years in business, while the company's own site describes a history running back to 2018 - likely the gap between the current legal entity and when Amr actually started doing the work. It's also new enough on BBB that it isn't accredited, though its BBB rating is an A with no complaints logged there. For a homeowner planning a large-scale renovation, addition, or ADU in the Newton/Wellesley/Weston corridor, the pattern across the reviews - active project management, direct subcontractor oversight, and steady updates on multi-month jobs - is the strongest signal here. Confirm current licensing and insurance details directly and ask for references from a project similar in scope to yours, since the public review count is still thin.
I hired Amr/Quantum Leap for house renovation in Greater Boston in 2023/2024 that involved adding central air, adding a third bathroom, renovating bathrooms, knocking down a wall, kitchen island renovation and turning a staircase into a mudroom. Among all the quotes we collected, Amr's was reasonable and in line with what others have quoted, but we were impressed by his professionalism and how easy it was to work with him, talk to him etc. After signing the contract, communication was mostly done via WhatsApp, where he shared pictures regularly (as we were not living in the Boston area at that time). The project was mostly on time. It was only slightly over budget because we failed a few inspections requiring redoing some things, but I think that's just a hit or mess with the inspector. Throughout the project, we were always happy and satisfied with his work. If we weren’t, he and his team never hesitated to make changes to address any issues. I never felt bad for asking to make changes - they happily obliged. We also asked for additional work that was not part of the original contract, and Amr was able to give us quotes. Sometimes we were able to find cheaper quotes elsewhere and went with others (and Amr had no problem with this), but most of the time we just stuck with Amr, just because of how easy it was to work with him. Overall, I highly recommend Amr and Quantum Leap Construction and will definitely consider them again for future changes.
Our family recently finished a two phase remodel of the upstairs and downstairs of our home. Amr was able to guide us through the entire process and address our concerns we had throughout. We also made some design changes mid-project, and Amr and company were able to adapt to our new ideas, and work with them to make them a reality. Amr also directly interfaced with sub-contractors so that we didn't have to, and in the cases where initial work wasn't up to our standards, would either work with the subcontractors to meet our bar, or would get another subcontractor to finish the job. At the end of the project, we're extremely happy with how the remodel turned out, turning a dated house with layers of old wallpaper, into a modern house that feels much friendlier and warm to walk into. Going back in time, we wouldn't have changed our decision to go with Amr and QLP. Thanks!
We did a major home renovation with Amr as our design lead / GC and we felt very comfortable with him throughout the process. It was quite fun going on site visits with him to select materials or for design inspiration, and he was very collaborative, flexible, and patient as we narrowed in on what we wanted. In the construction phase, if there was an error made along the way, it was always addressed and fixed. He followed through on all promises and we're so very happy with the results! Amr was great to work with and made our dream home happen for us!
Really great experience working with this contractor. Great quality work and is super organized and shows up on time. Don't have to second guess if he's going to be on time or whether his crew will get the job done. Saves a lot of the headache of dealing with contractors. Very professional and knows his stuff, not cutting corners like many do.
I recently had the pleasure of working with Quantum Leap Construction and its owner, Amr, on a remodeling project for one of my clients. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of excellent. Firstly, Amr was incredibly professional and knowledgeable throughout the entire process. He took the time to listen to my client's needs and preferences, and offered insightful suggestions and ideas that helped bring their vision to life. He was also very responsive and communicative, keeping us updated on progress and any issues that arose along the way. In terms of the actual work done by Quantum Leap Construction, I was thoroughly impressed. The craftsmanship and attention to detail were truly exceptional. The crew was always on time, respectful, and kept the work site clean and organized. The end result was a stunning remodel that exceeded my client's expectations. Overall, I highly recommend Quantum Leap Construction and Amr for any remodeling needs. Their professionalism, expertise, and quality of work are truly top-notch. Working with them was a pleasure, and I would not hesitate to work with them again in the future.
