RenoViso is a Boston exterior-remodeling company whose written record centers on window, siding, gutter and door replacement — the kind of work a handful of customers called out for upfront, transparent online quoting. Its five written Google reviews all date to 2017 and 2018. In a 2017 review, a homeowner had 20 Andersen 400 windows installed in a 1957 colonial, with new white aluminum wrapped around the sills and framing, and called the workmanship excellent, though a few shutter fasteners arrived late and delayed the reattachment. Another 2017 review described the whole exterior — roof, siding and gutters — being replaced after comparing several quotes, with pricing laid out upfront and the project going smoothly apart from a weather delay. A third called a front-door replacement first class and said the online estimate matched the final bill exactly. A 2018 review was more mixed: communication and pricing transparency were praised, but the reviewer was disappointed that windows left on the lawn during installation burned patches of grass and that flowers were trampled during the initial estimate visit. A 2018 Reddit comment recommended the company for its upfront online quotes, noting prices run a bit higher in exchange for that transparency. Houzz's profile lists RenoViso as an Andersen, CertainTeed, Harvey and Therma-Tru certified installer and credits it with a 2015-2018 Angie's List Super Service Award, though the page gives no individual review text to check those claims against. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, once active, is now expired — worth asking directly about its current status before signing a contract. The written record here is dated, running 2017 to 2018 with nothing on file since, so it speaks to how RenoViso operated several years ago rather than today. For an exterior project like windows, siding or an entry door, expect a detailed upfront online quote — and confirm the registration question before booking.
“I'd recommend https://renoviso.com/ just because they give you quotes right up front online. Because of their transparency in price, they tend to be a bit higher than others, but you know what you're getting up front.”
Excellent communications and on-time service -- unusual among contractors. Everyone on the team was kind and respectful. The installer seemed competent, and the window installations appear solid. Competitive and transparent pricing. We will probably use Renoviso again. Disappointed by property damage incurred during the project, however. A couple of lawn sections were burnt to the roots by windows left on the grass during installation, and flowers were trampled needlessly during the initial estimate. Growing new grass is a time-intensive nuisance requiring watering multiple times a day for a couple of weeks after seeding. A 5% discount was at least offered in compensation (~$100), but I was surprised that when we first reported the problem, there wasn't an apology and acknowledgment that this was unacceptable, and in the course of communicating with Renoviso the problem was explicitly or implicitly labeled a "hiccup" and "small detail." There didn't appear to be any ill intent in these remarks -- as mentioned above, all team members were friendly to work with -- but when a customer has a valid complaint, it's important to fully validate it. We were also surprised to find some insulation left behind below the installation site of one of the windows, raising questions about attention to detail.
Having tried everything I could to save the outside of the house, it was time to have someone who knows what they're doing step in. I needed the whole outside replaced - roof, siding, gutters. I got a couple of quotes and was still undecided. Then I talked to Renoviso and it cleared up a lot. Pricing was out there to start so I knew what I the options were, and they were helpful answering questions about materials and the process. The project went off without a hitch. Well, there was a slight weather delay but that can't be helped. The quality of work is excellent and the crews worked hard and were friendly. They paid attention to all the details - parking, cleanup, and even replaced a broken doorbell without me asking or charging for it. It looks great and was very reasonably placed compared to a couple other quotes I got. I couldn't be happier with the result and will definitely consult Renoviso again if I have another project.
Overall a very positive experience. I really liked the online tool quote - it was very helpful to instantly see how different features affected the price. I felt that I was informed through all stages of the process and all my questions were answered quickly and thoroughly. The installers were on time and seemed to do a great job. It was also helpful that they explained what they had done, what trade-offs they made during installation and made sure we knew how to use the windows. I would definitely recommend Renoviso to any friend wanting to replace their windows
First class work on not so easy front door replacement. Will hire again and strongly recommend these folks. The estimate online was exactly what we paid. Glad I chose Renoviso after extensive online search for my front door project.
We hired Renoviso to install 20 new Andersen 400 windows in our 1957 colonial style home in May 2017. They removed old storm windows and window sashes and they wrapped the exterior sills and wood framing in beautiful white aluminum that exactly matched the white window color - it really pops. Installation and workmanship was excellent. Interaction with their office was very good up until a few days before the installation where there was some miscommunication and confusion. Namely, new shutter fasteners did not arrive on site in time for the installation, so the re-attachment of the shutters was delayed a day. I dealt with Chris via e-mail and phone all the way until a few days before the installation; after that I was in contact with office staff and did not hear from Chris ever again; not sure what happened. The installers that they subcontracted were very skilled and professional. The entire job took 2 and 1/2 days. We paid exactly the online estimate - there were no surprises, no aggressive up-sells, and no hidden fees. In fact, the installers removed and replaced an entire rotted window sill at no charge, and they even put some new aluminum wrapping on the corner fascia board trim on one side of the house. Great crew.
