Rhino Rooter

One customer has been calling David at Rhino Rooter for seven years and wrote in July 2026 about his timeliness and what they called sincere honesty. That is the shape of this Belmont, MA business: a family-owned drain and sewer shop, by its own account, where the owner is the person who shows up. The site says it covers residential and commercial plumbing, drain cleaning, sewer, pipe, fixture, water-heater and emergency work across Greater Boston, from Belmont out through Cambridge, Newton, Waltham, Arlington and Somerville. The calls people describe are the urgent kind. An out-of-town landlord wrote in August 2026 that the company answered right away and had a technician at the house within an hour. A September 2026 customer had an urgent toilet supply-line problem found quickly and part of the line replaced. A June 2025 Thumbtack reviewer got him out on very short notice on a weekend and described the work as neat. The everyday job is clearing what is blocked: a main sewer line and kitchen drains for a repeat customer writing in September 2026; a kitchen sink freed within fifteen minutes for a March 2022 Angi reviewer; blocked floor drains at a commercial property cleared the same day in a July 2021 account. A cafe owner in Brookline wrote in August 2026 after two calls. In a December 2025 pr.com item, David de la Roca warned homeowners that tree roots frequently invade older clay and cast-iron sewer lines and urged them to watch for slow drains, gurgling and recurring clogs. On Google, 12 ratings average 5.0; Angi's page carries hundreds of ratings averaging between 4.6 and 4.9. Price is where the dissent sits, and it is older. In October 2021 a HomeAdvisor customer said the drain was cleaned as asked but still drained slowly, wished for suggestions on actually fixing the problem, and called the job incredibly expensive. A March 2022 Angi reviewer rated the visit five stars but marked value down over being charged a flat fee, adding that he had been up front on the phone. Against that, a July 2026 Google reviewer got a price on the phone, an arrival when expected, and the quoted fee with nothing added at the end. How long the company has been at this depends on where you look — its own site says since 2003 in one place and since 2009 in another, while Angi, HomeAdvisor and Thumbtack each list 17 years. For a blocked main, a backed-up kitchen line or an after-hours emergency in Belmont and the towns around it, this is a straightforward call; settle the fee and what it covers on the phone before he rolls out.
