Richard Doyle Flooring is a Weymouth wood-floor specialist that installs new wood and laminate floors and, above all, brings old ones back — dustless sanding, refinishing, and repair of existing hardwood. By its own account the company has worked South Shore homes and businesses for more than 26 years, and a family member describes it as a business his father started decades ago. The picture from customers is genuinely mixed, and with only a few reviews to go on it's worth reading closely rather than trusting a single number. Some clients praise Richard and his crew as fast, responsive, and skilled at both installing new floors and matching refinished ones. But the record also holds a detailed, hard complaint: one homeowner said a hardwood repair and refinish came out chipped and sinking with big gaps and a rough, sandpaper-like finish, and that they were charged an extra $1,000 to re-sand it smooth. A specific dispute about the actual work like that carries real weight against a thin set of reviews. That split is the whole story here — real craftsmanship for some, a serious workmanship dispute for another, over a small body of feedback. If you're considering them, lean hard on references for jobs like yours, especially weave-in repairs and refinishing; ask to see recent finished floors in person; and get the scope, finish expectations, and full price in writing before any work starts.

Richard really pumps his work up, how great he is! We believed him, Not true at all!!! He did a TERRIBLE JOB weaving in hardwood that was damaged and it looks worse, chipped, sinking, big gaps. He wanted to fix the wood that was sinking by puttying an 8x4 piece of oak! He resanded our floors and they were left with a rough finish, like sand paper, he said “that’s the they are supposed to be”, then charged me $1000 more to sand them smooth. I could go on but hopefully you get the message! 10-25
