Ridge Home Services, Inc.

Ridge Home Services is a small, family-run general contracting outfit on Cape Cod, run by owner Michael Schofield ('Mike') with over 30 years of self-reported experience and a Massachusetts home improvement contractor license (No. 199565) that's verified active with the state. The company is BBB A+ rated, though not accredited, and BuildZoom scores it 98 out of 100 — the 84th percentile among Massachusetts contractors — largely on the strength of a documented permit history: a $250,000 interior remodel with a deck extension and a basement remodel with a new bathroom in South Dennis and Dennis, cedar clapboard siding, and window replacements filed under Old King's Highway historic-district exemptions. Every review on file — eight of them, spanning 2020 to 2025 across HomeAdvisor and Google — is five stars, and the specifics track the permit record closely. A 2024 review describes a kitchen window and sliding door replacement that went well enough the same homeowner brought Mike's crew back for a full re-siding job, a new hatchway, and Azek corner trim. Another 2024 review describes a full roof replacement — bushes covered for protection, the whole job done in a single day with no issues. A 2021 review names Mike's son Ryder working alongside him on a bathroom tiling, painting and TV-mounting job, praising the crew for staying in touch on scheduling rather than disappearing mid-project, a theme that runs through the older reviews too, which describe the work as reliable, punctual and neat. With only eight reviews on file, this is a small operation whose reputation still rests mostly on word of mouth and a solid permit trail rather than volume — worth confirming current lead times and getting the scope in writing given how many different trades (additions, remodels, roofing, siding) run through one crew.
