A one-man home inspection office in Amesbury with a very long runway behind it. The BBB lists the business as John Romano Home Inspection Company, Inc., incorporated in Massachusetts in 1986 — 40 years — with John Romano as president and a single employee, and grades it A+. It is not BBB accredited, which only means the company never applied. The public review history is small: 11 Google ratings averaging 4.6, and that is essentially the whole third-party picture. Two reviews sit behind it, both positive, both a few years old. That is a thin base for a business this old, so treat the 4.6 as encouraging rather than settled. Worth knowing: the name on the BBB file is John Romano Home Inspection Company, Inc., not the Romano Inspection and Building Investigations name used here — ask which entity you are contracting with, and confirm the current Massachusetts home inspector registration and radon or pest add-ons directly before you book. A reasonable call for a straightforward Merrimack Valley resale inspection with a long-established solo inspector. Just go in knowing you will be relying more on the 40-year track record and a direct conversation than on a deep bench of published reviews.

I found Romano’s after an online search for one property, they were the quickest response for pricing request. I did use RHI for another property and was not disappointed: Prompt arrival for Radon & day of inspection. Throughout the process explaining any questions I had and concerns he had. The report is very thorough and I know anyone asking for home inspections, I am recommending Romanos.

We couldn't be happier with John and his work/advice on our townhome! He brought to light essential findings that other inspectors previously didn't. At a time when EVERYONE is rushing you to make decisions and move quickly - John thoughtfully and thoroughly took the time to inspect our home top to bottom - and everything inbetween. He educated us along the way! We will only use Romano Home Inspection moving forward. Thank you for everything!
