A boiler quits at 10:15 on a January night; the tech calls back immediately and is in the basement 25 minutes later. That homeowner, writing in January 2026, went on to describe the crew recognizing a Buderus — "frankly not everyone works on them" — pulling the cover, reading a faulty-ignition code, and scrubbing corrosion off the old igniter until it fired on the third try rather than walking away for parts. That is the shape of nearly every account of Royal Flush Plumbing & Heating: the emergency call, answered fast, by people who know the equipment. The company works out of West Townsend and covers the towns around it — reviewers name Ashby and Lunenburg among the places its trucks show up. Zach Zufelt runs the work and appears by name in review after review, usually alongside a young helper, Zyler; several customers describe it plainly as a family business. The volume backs the impression: 4.7 stars across 141 Google ratings, and 75 reviews in total across seven sites running from 2021 to today, with five more in the last six months and none of them negative. What the write-ups actually describe is the full plumbing-and-heating spread — a whole house repiped from failing copper to PEX, a tankless water heater and a gas boiler, an emergency HVAC swap during a 2024 heat wave, water filters, sump-pump maintenance, a shower tiled and two vanities set. In a February 2024 review, a homeowner whose furnace died in freezing weather found a Royal Flush sticker on the old unit from "nearly a generation ago," called the number, and had a new furnace in two days. The blemish worth knowing about is a one-star review from March 2024. That customer had a water heater replaced by the company in 2019, went back for a January 2024 maintenance flush, and says the flush was done wrong; when they called about the pilot going out and new noises from the heater, they felt accused of lying rather than helped, and ended up hiring a different plumber. It is the only account of its kind in a long, otherwise consistent record — but it is specific, and it is about how a complaint was handled, not just the work. The other thing to settle yourself is licensing. The company's own materials print MA licence 13192, and the BBB shows both 13192 and a second number, 23257, on file for the business. The state's record for 13192 comes back expired and under a different holder's name entirely, which does not resolve into a clean answer either way — ask Royal Flush directly for the current licence numbers of the plumber and gasfitter who will be on your job, and check them with the Board of State Examiners of Plumbers & Gas Fitters before work begins. For a no-heat night, a burst supply line, or a boiler nobody else wants to touch, this is a shop with a deep and current record of showing up fast and finishing the same day. Get the licence numbers and a written scope up front, and you are on solid ground.

We had Zach and Dennis come out to our house in Ashby and it was a GREAT experience! They tiled our shower installed two new vanity’s and even did some additional faucet work for us for free.

Made themselves available same day without charging an emergency fee. They were polite, professional, timely and reasonable as far as price goes. Would use them again and highly recommend.

We moved into our home the beginning of Feb and our shower was lukewarm for a short time then went freezing. We had a plumber come twice and he thought he fixed the problem both times but never checked the temp of the shower itself. We had a baby at the end of Feb and the last thing I wanted postpartum was a cold shower. My husband called Royal Flush on Friday and Saturday morning before I got out of bed they were already there fixing the problem. They were quick and efficient and listened to my husband when he was explaining what was happening and they knew right away what needed fixing. Nothing better than a nice hot shower! Thank you Royal Flush!

Zach serviced us for a copper pipe replacement. He did an excellent job. The replacment pipe looks good and is up to code. Price was upfront and fair. Work was completed in a timely manner and tested before leaving the site. Good customer service from personable staff. Would recommend for plumbing!

Wicked fast service when our toilet broke. 2 hours ago, the supply line and float busted. Two young men had everything fixed within 90 minutes of calling. Fair pricing, fast acting and better than new.
