Ryan Scott Construction, run by Scott Ryan out of Sandwich for the past 20 years by its own account, holds an active Massachusetts construction supervisor license (CS-081294) verified against the state registry. BBB carries the business at an A+ rating under its formal name, Scott Ryan Construction, LLC, with Ryan Construction listed as an alternate name. The reviews on file run both ways, and there aren't many of them. In a 2020 review, a customer described a roof-repair job -- work identified by an HVAC tech, then handled by "Roofing GM" Cleo -- as responsive, professional and fairly priced, with results they'd recommend. Two brief reviews from August 2019, on HomeAdvisor and Angi, called the work timely and a fair price. The company also lists certifications as a CertainTeed SELECT ShingleMaster and a Cedar Shake and Shingle Bureau installer, both relevant to its roofing and siding work. The most recent account is a serious one. In a May 2026 Angi review, a customer said the contractor completed about 80% of a project, was paid for that portion, and then stopped responding -- the reviewer explicitly warned against paying before a job is finished. It's the only review from the last several years, and it tells a different story from the earlier ones. Beyond roofing, the company markets itself for custom homes, additions, kitchen and bath remodeling, siding, window and door replacement, and decks, working Mashpee, Cotuit, Osterville, Hyannisport, Falmouth, Bourne, Sandwich and New Seabury. Given how far apart the 2020 praise and the 2026 complaint sit, and how few reviews exist in between, it's worth asking directly about current project load and getting a firm payment schedule tied to completed work -- and checking in with a recent client before signing anything, especially for a larger remodel or addition.
Walked away & ghosted me after finishing ~80% of my project after I paid for that portion of the job; Do not pay this jerk until he has completed a project
Roof repair project. Roof leak was identified by HVAC service tech. Ryan construction was recommended but two highly regarded contractors. Roofing GM, Cleo was responsive, professional, nice and pricing seemed reasonable/fair. Work seems to be very good and we’d highly recommend.
Timely, quality work and easy work with.
Happy with the work and the price was fine.
