Saltwater Woodworks is Matt Sullivan's shop, and what people hired him for is the built thing: a countertop, a run of kitchen cabinets, a custom reclaimed wood bar top a 2018 Google reviewer called "lovely." It works out of 360 Main Street in Falmouth, and its Houzz page lists custom cabinets, kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, built-ins, bookcases, pantries, entertainment centers, home bars and cabinet and exterior doors across a 22-town Cape service area. The written accounts are dated, and they agree on one thing: Matt himself. A February 2014 customer described him arriving on time, carefully measuring the counter tops, explaining what the job would entail, and then keeping in touch about progress as the work went on. A September 2014 homeowner said he came out for the estimate right away and that pictures and email replies arrived promptly; a July 2015 customer said he came when he said he would and planned to bring him back for a few other things. In a May 2015 review, a customer described needing a new countertop after a plumber pulled the kitchen sink the previous September, and deciding to take on the kitchen cabinets at the same time. Angi shows 5.0 from seven reviews, each naming Matt Sullivan; the newest of those written accounts is from March 2018. The Better Business Bureau grades the shop A+ and notes it is not BBB accredited, and its page lists a Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #155810, in Matt Sullivan's name. Angi's profile also describes the business as a subsidiary of C&J Hunt Construction Services, which is worth asking about if you want to know whose name goes on the contract. For custom cabinetry, built-ins, a vanity or a countertop on the Cape, this is a one-craftsman shop rather than a crew. Ask to see work from the past year or two, and settle who holds the contract and the registration before you sign.
