Saltwater Woodworks is a Falmouth custom cabinetry and carpentry shop run by owner Matt Sullivan, working across a service area Houzz lists spanning 22 Cape Cod towns — built-ins, custom kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, bookcases and home bars alongside general custom furniture work. Its written record runs entirely from 2014 to 2018 — seven reviews across six directories, every one five stars, with Matt Sullivan named directly in most of them. In a February 2014 review, a customer described him arriving on time, carefully measuring countertops, and keeping in touch throughout the job; a 2015 review described him replacing a kitchen countertop and addressing related cabinet issues after a plumber had removed the sink to install a new one. In a March 2018 review, a customer praised a custom reclaimed-wood bar top. Its BBB profile carries an A+ grade but the business is not an accredited member, and lists a Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration number for Matt Sullivan that hasn't been separately verified against the state registry. Angi's profile lists the company as a subsidiary of C&J Hunt Construction Services. There's a small discrepancy in how long the business has been operating — BBB puts it at 22 years, while Angi and HomeAdvisor list 25 — and there's nothing published more recent than 2018 to describe how the shop operates today. For custom cabinetry, built-ins, or a countertop and cabinet refresh on the Cape, Saltwater Woodworks has a small but consistently strong handful of older accounts behind it. Given how dated that record is, it's worth asking directly about current turnaround, licensing, and recent project photos before booking.

matt was responsive, helpful, professional, and did a great job. he came when he said, did the job well and will be back for a few other things!
My need for a new countertop became apparent when I had a plumber remove my kitchen sink to replace it with a new one. This happened in September 2014. Since the countertop needed to be replaced, I decided the time had come to also address issues with the kitchen cabinets. I got several quotes. As far as price goes, Saltwater Woodworks was somewhere in the middle, but Matt Sullivan listened carefully, made good suggestions about how to accomplish my objectives, and was the only one who would commit to getting my kitchen back in working condition by Thanksgiving. And he delivered on this promise. I am very happy with the work. There were some problems encountered. The finish on the new cabinet doors did not match the finish on the refinished cabinet boxes as well as expected; three of the new drawer fronts were damaged during installation and had to be replaced; there was a problem with the hinges on one cabinet door. All of these problems were corrected to my complete satisfaction and without any objection. The entire project, with corrections, took longer than I anticipated. But once the initial deadline of getting the kitchen up and running by Thanksgiving was met, I was willing to be patient about the corrections and did not press for speedier action. Matt Sullivan was very good about communication, and I never worried that he would fail to follow through.
So far, extremely responsive and prompt. Came out for estimate right away. Worked with us to come up with exactly what we wanted. Sent pictures and responses to emails were very prompt. Am thrilled to have found such a terrific woodworking team.
