A recent customer hired Savol Pools to replace the waterline tile in an in-ground pool and said Rob M and the team communicated well from the start, handled the job from demo of the old tile to installing the new, and made sure the pool and surrounding area was clean at the end of each day. That customer also called the quote very competitive. Savol Pools is based in East Hartford, and its website describes pool openings, liner replacements, restorations and repairs. Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0584241, held by Savol Pools, is active on the state registry. The Better Business Bureau grades it A+, and on Google it holds 4.4 stars from 38 ratings. A 2025 customer said Savol had opened, closed and serviced their pool since they bought their home over 13 years earlier, and that Josh taught them about maintenance on the pool. A 2025 customer said Teala sent a reminder that it was time to open the pool and sent the team out sooner than expected. In 2023, a customer said Josh figured out a problem with a spill over spa, and that Savol got the spa working correctly for the first time since it was built. A 2022 customer who called at closing about a leak in an inground pool said they were out first thing the following morning, with pricing explained up front on the phone. A 2022 customer said Fabian pointed them toward contractors who deal with metal inground pools and, asked for an estimate to remove and fill in the pool, said they do not do that but gave helpful tips. In a 2025 one-star review, a customer said the company declined responsibility for damage found at a pool opening, charged them to fix it without their knowledge, and charged their card without notice. A 2025 customer gave one star after calling a new office person, Teala, rude, and said the owners never responded to requests for resolution. A 2023 customer said service was good but things were a little overpriced compared to other pool stores.
We hired Savol Pool to replace the waterline tile in our in-ground pool. They did an outstanding job! Savol’s quote for the job was very competitive and the contracting process was easy. Rob M and the team came onsite and from the start of the job, the communication was great… wonderful customer care. The quality of the team’s work was excellent.. from demo of the old tile to installing the new… and at the end of each day, they made sure the pool and surrounding area was clean. I would highly recommend Rob M and the Savol Team!
We have been using Savol Pools for our opening, closing and servicing of our pool since we bought our home over 13 years ago. The office staff has always been professional in our communications. Once we worked with Josh we were immediately impressed with his excellent customer service & great knowledge of our pool. Josh has taught us many things about maintenance on our pool and ways to ensure it’s running smoothly. Anytime we work with Savol, we always request Josh because we know the great service we will receive! We just had our pool opening last week with Josh and Anthony and were extremely satisfying. Both were friendly, fast and professional. We would recommend these two to anyone looking for any pool needs.
I totally agree with Maria about the rudeness and Teala. My husband and I were customers of Savol Pools for about four years, and they are were aware of my husband’s brain injury which is why they needed to call me to keep me informed of any issues. The previous season, however, they performed work we did not ask them to and when they opened the pool for us this season I noticed problems. It seems like they cannot keep employees because they kept asking me questions that they should have had the answers too. When I brought the issues to their attention, they did not want to claim responsibility for the damage and charged us, without my knowledge mind you, to fix the problem. You don't perform work that will cost additional money without discussing it with your customer first. I also did not like how they would charge my card without notice. When they closed our pool for us last year it took them almost a month before they charged me for the final balance, I had assumed they had already charged me on the day they came out to close my pool, they need to work on the how and when of charging people. I do not like a company that will charge you for services, expected and unexpected ones, when they feel like charging your card instead of when the work is performed. Their newest employee had the nerve to say my husband made their tech guy uncomfortable. My 65-year-old physically and mentally handicapped husband made your young strong male pool guy uncomfortable, yeah right. If you cannot be present yourself, and/or have seniors or physically/mentally impaired individuals in your home, I do not recommend Savol pools. In the end, they have done me a huge favor as I found someone a lot cheaper to open and close my pool. They also provide an actual date they will come out instead of telling you last minute via a text. Lynn, thank you for your help and contacting me the way you did in 2022, maybe if were you still the main contact person this would not have happened. I hope you received a promotion because you were the only reason I kept using Savol.
I have been using Savol for years now to open my in ground pool for me. But this year stands out! Teala has been amazing, she sent out a friendly reminder that it was that time of year again, thank God because it had completely slipped my mind! She has quick responses and even sent her team out sooner than I would have ever expected! The guys are great too! Very professional and friendly, fast too! I highly recommend them, reach out to them today!
Really sad about this business. We had been using them for service years and years, but they suddenly have a new office person Teala who is incredibly rude. She will talk down to you, she has a terrible attitude, she lacks understanding and compassion, and is unkind. Owners never responded to our requests for resolution. Beware. Update: we are now with Juliano’s pools who are amazing and treat their clients like valued customers.
