A doorbell and a smoke detector is barely a job, but it is exactly the kind of call Kevin Sawyer takes. The customer who booked it in June 2026 wrote that it was handled quickly by his coworker James, at what they called a very fair price. Sawyer Solutions works out of South Boston across the Boston area, and the thing customers keep writing down is that he turns up when he said he would — six of the eighteen written reviews, spread from 2023 through 2026, say so outright. On Google it sits at 4.9 from 18 ratings; the Angi and HomeAdvisor pages each show 5.0 from 14. The work runs wider than a punch list. In an April 2026 review a homeowner had an old closet torn out — shelves and a large electronics rack gone, walls repainted — plus a bathroom humidity problem dealt with and that ceiling repainted. A March 2026 customer furnishing a Boston apartment had wall sconces installed, a TV mounted, curtain rods hung, rugs laid and artwork put up, done cleanly and right the first time. Further back, a March 2024 job brought a staircase up to code and painted the new railing to match the trim in the house, and in December 2025 someone had a piece of furniture they had written off repaired instead of replaced. Property managers use him too. One who runs apartments wrote in November 2025 that Kevin sets the access day directly with the tenant and keeps the manager posted while the work is underway. Angi and HomeAdvisor both list a Massachusetts trade licence, #210228, for the business, and his own site describes what he does as painting, general handyman repairs and carpentry. Ask to see the licence, and pin the price down before the visit — the customers who mentioned money, in November 2023 and again in June 2026, both called it fair, so it should be a short conversation.
