Sawyer Solutions is a South Boston handyman operation built around one name reviewers keep repeating: Kevin. The company's own site describes it as a Boston-area business handling painting, general repairs and carpentry, and the reviews back that up with an unusually wide range of jobs for a small operation — hanging ten paintings for an out-of-town client's son, bringing a set of carpeted, steep stairs up to code with a new railing and spindles, replacing an exterior door in a single day, repairing a piece of furniture nobody else thought was worth saving, mounting TVs and wall sconces, and swapping out a toilet. That range comes with a near-perfect record: 20 reviews since 2023 across Google, Angi and HomeAdvisor, every one five stars — a 4.9★ average from 18 Google ratings, and a clean 5.0★ on both directories from 14 reviews apiece. Nine of the twenty landed in the past six months, all five-star, so this isn't an old reputation coasting on momentum — the same praise (on time, communicative, careful with details) shows up in a July 2026 review as it did back in 2023. A property manager who has hired Kevin for repairs across multiple rental units calls him responsible and easy to coordinate with, and one reviewer specifically noted feeling comfortable letting him into her home alone as a younger woman — the kind of detail that speaks to how he handles the job, not just the finished work. On one small install, a coworker named James is mentioned handling the visit himself, quickly and at a fair price, so it isn't strictly a one-person operation. Angi and HomeAdvisor both list a Massachusetts trade license (#210228, expiring November 2027) for the business — that's the directories' own listing, not an independent registry check, so it's worth confirming directly if licensing matters for the job. For anything from furniture repair and TV mounting to door replacement, painting touch-ups or bringing an older home's carpentry up to code, this is a business with a current, consistent track record for exactly that kind of work — worth a call for the odd-jobs list a bigger contractor won't take on.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Sawyer Solutions. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
A day rate replaces the task list — usually the better deal once the list gets long.

Great service. On time and clean job.
Sawyer Solutions was a terrific experience. The owner is incredibly friendly and trustworthy, which meant a lot as I am a younger female. He had excellent communication the entire time and was patient with me when running late for our appointment. It is rare these days to find a good tradesman that can truly cover a host of home projects - it's a landlords Swiss Army knife. So happy with the results and responsiveness and will definitely be a repeat customer and recommend to others.
Kevin responded immediately to our request for a new doorbell and smoke detector. Although a very small project , It was handled quickly and professionally by his coworker, James. And at a very fair price. Highly recommend!
Kevin responded quickly. Was on time and did excellent work
Kevin did a great job removing an old closet to make room for a remodeled one. He took out the old shelves and a large electronics rack, and repainted the walls. He also took care of some humidity issues in a bathroom and repainted the ceiling. While he was at our home, we asked to do some other misc things like hang art, hooks, caulk, etc. He was very willing to do what we asked him to even if it wasn’t part of the original project. He’s punctual, reliable and reasonably priced.
