Scherrer Hardwood Floors customers have hired Jair for both restoring existing wood floors and installing new ones. A July 2026 Angi customer described first-floor hardwood sanding and refinishing alongside replacement of second-floor carpeting with new hardwood. They praised his planning input and price, and said he and his small crew finished within a few days. A June 2026 Google customer described engineered-wood installation at home, praising Jair and his team's responsiveness to questions, neat work and reasonable cost.
The company calls itself a family-owned hardwood flooring business operating for more than two generations. Its website offers installation, refinishing, restoration, sanding and staining, plus stair, bathroom/tile and deck work. Google shows 5 stars from 17 ratings, Angi 4.9 from five and Houzz 4.2 from six. BBB lists a Dennis Port address, while Angi lists South Dennis. Descriptions of its tenure differ too: Houzz cites over 19 years of experience, Angi lists 26 years, and BBB gives a January 2014 business-start date.
An April 2020 Houzz customer reported a serious problem. The customer said they hired Jair to sand, stain and seal about 2,500 square feet of oak flooring with two flights of stairs. They alleged that he damaged their floors and quit partway through the job, just after staining, saying he could not fix the damage. They also alleged stain on baseboards, door trim and the porch, and said sanding dust clogged the air ducts and HVAC system, requiring $1,800 in repairs and cleaning. The customer described hiring an attorney and public adjuster to seek reimbursement and damages, and said insurance did not cover the damage. They reported a total $19,000 cost to redo the floors, fix and clean the HVAC system and repaint the trim.
Other dated customers described stain matching, repeat work and stairs. In November 2024, an Angi customer said Jair matched the existing stain while installing and refinishing a kitchen floor. An October 2023 Google customer described Jair and his brother refinishing white-oak flooring and stairs, with communication about timelines and attention to detail. In October 2022, a repeat customer described earlier oak-floor installation and finishing, followed by removal of damaged bamboo and installation of prefinished oak. That customer praised cleanup and Jair's communication. A builder writing in January 2026 said they had worked with Jair for over 20 years and that he came right back if there was a callback.
