The name says carpentry; the work is closer to whole-house renovation. It runs out of 47 Orne Street under Thomas Shilling and Thomas Shilling Jr. Seven permits sit on file. Alongside that 2021 Seaview Avenue rebuild there is a $35,270 master-bathroom renovation in Marblehead in 2024, cedar re-shingling with rotted window trim replaced on Auburndale Road in 2022, a new stairway framed from the second floor to the third on State Street the same year, and older kitchen-and-bath work in Peabody and a garden-level structural renovation in Charlestown going back to 2012–2015. It is a small book of work, but it is real, it is local, and it is substantial. What there isn't is a single customer review — not on BuildZoom, not anywhere turned up here. It separately lists a construction supervisor licence, CS-101569, as inactive and at one point cancelled. Those are two different credentials and a carpenter can hold one without the other, but the structural work in the permit record — framing, a new stairway, steel beams and footings in Charlestown — is exactly the kind of job a construction supervisor licence covers. Good fit if you want a Marblehead crew for exterior envelope work, framing, or a bathroom rebuild and you are comfortable doing your own diligence. Ask Thomas Shilling for both licence numbers, check them yourself with Mass.gov Consumer Affairs and the Department of Public Safety, and ask for references from the Seaview Avenue or Symonds Court jobs, since there is nothing written to read.
