Nine reviews landed on Smart Climate HVAC's Google page in the first half of 2026, and eight of them are five stars for the same kind of job: swapping an oil furnace or window unit for a heat pump through the Mass Save program. The company works out of Stoughton and says it also serves Canton, Sharon, Milton, and Easton — heating, air conditioning, water heaters, and indoor air quality work for houses and small commercial properties. It describes itself as a member of the Mass Save Heat Pump Leader Network and a BBB-accredited business with an A+ rating. A technician named Alex shows up again and again in these accounts as the one walking customers through the diagnosis, the options, and the paperwork after the job. This June, one homeowner had a boiler replaced on short notice and called the process efficient; another the same month had a condensate drain line and EZ trap rerouted after a scheduled visit. Earlier in the year, a customer who converted an old gas furnace to a heat pump — and upgraded their home's electrical system in the same project — said Alex was patient answering questions both before and after installation. That pattern runs deep: 73 reviews since 2021 across four sources, a 4.9-star average from 103 Google ratings, and more than one customer who compared several competing quotes before choosing Smart Climate on price and product quality. Cleanliness comes up often too — floor coverings, shoe covers, and crews that leave a job site looking untouched. The praise has one exception. In June 2026, one customer said a $425 furnace tune-up lasted ten minutes, the furnace failed the following week, and Smart Climate then asked for $1,200 more to fix what it called a separate issue — worth pinning down in writing if a routine visit turns up a new diagnosis. For a South Shore homeowner weighing a heat pump conversion or a furnace and AC swap, the volume and consistency here make Smart Climate a reasonable call — just get the diagnostic and tune-up pricing spelled out before agreeing to any follow-up repair.

Alex came out for the service call, diagnosed the issue, explained my options, sent me a quote. Once I approved the work, the service was scheduled very quickly.

When Illya arrived, he showed me where the new drain line would be installed outside and explained the work that would be done. He estimated it would take a couple of hours, which was exactly what I expected.

After the job was completed, he walked me through everything they had done, including installing the new EZ Trap, rerouting the condensate drain line to discharge outside, securing the new piping, and removing the old drain line. The work area was left clean and they did not leave any mess behind.

I am very satisfied with their work, professionalism, and communication throughout the entire process. I would not hesitate to contact Smart Climate again for future HVAC services and would recommend them to others.

Smart Climate HVAC provided us with excellent service. We had to replace our boiler at short notice but Alex was able to work us into his schedule and got the work done efficiently and effectively. He is highly professional as is his crew. He answered all of our questions and his pricing was very fair. Thanks Alex!

Smart Climate HVAC charged $425 for a furnace tune-up that lasted 10 minutes. Next week the furnace died completely. Said it was a different issue and wanted $1,200 more to fix it.
