Smooth

Two reviewers identify themselves as general contractors, and a third was sent to Smooth by his own contractor. One of the two, writing in September 2023, had the company foam insulate, board and plaster a 2,000-square-foot addition; the other, in July 2021, said Smooth did blueboard, plaster, insulation and interior painting on all of his projects. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #203852, is active. Andre's name turns up in ten of the twenty-seven written Google reviews. In a January 2022 review, a customer wrote that the insulation crew they had lined up stood them up and Smooth came the very next day. A July 2023 reviewer said the crew came back to patch damage after a water leak and charged nothing for it. Additions come up in five of the reviews — a three-story one in August 2023, a large one in August 2024 done in gypsum and plaster. More recently, a May 2026 customer pointed out that Havelock wool insulation is not easy to find an installer for, and was happy Smooth works with it. One of the twenty-seven written reviews is critical, and it is recent: a May 2026 customer hired the company for insulation and plaster work, wrote that several issues were identified after the initial installation and that corrective steps were agreed with the project manager, and would not use them again. There is also a question worth putting to them about the company itself — BBB opened its file on the company on 3/28/2026 and lists Smooth as Not Rated, saying the business has been operating less than six months, while the company's own site claims 15 years and its Google reviews run back to 2021. The site describes a Hudson base; the address on the BBB profile is in Lynn. For a builder or a homeowner who wants insulation, blueboard, plaster and paint done by one crew — an addition especially — Smooth is a straightforward call. Before signing, ask how long the company has operated under this name, confirm the registration and a current insurance certificate, and get in writing how agreed corrections get handled after the first install.
