Smooth is a Lynn-area insulation, drywall, and plastering crew led by Andre — the name that comes up in nearly every one of its reviews — and the company says it's been doing this work for 15 years, serving Greater Boston, MetroWest, the North and South Shores, and into southern New Hampshire and Maine. The Google history is deep and mostly one story: general contractors and repeat homeowners hiring Smooth for insulation, blueboard, and plaster on additions — a 2,000-square-foot addition in a 2023 review, a three-story addition in another — and coming away impressed with the pace and coordination of multi-trade work. One 2023 review describes Andre's crew returning to patch damage from a water leak at no extra charge. Several reviewers identify themselves as general contractors or repeat clients using Smooth across multiple projects, a stronger endorsement than a one-off homeowner review. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active. Not everything lines up cleanly, though: the most recent review on file, from May 2026, describes a very different experience — wallboard installed before agreed-upon insulation corrective work was finished, with the change never communicated to the customer, and the owner later saying he'd decided not to proceed with the agreed fix. It's worth asking, in writing, exactly what's included before work starts and getting any mid-project changes confirmed in writing too. One more thing worth knowing: Smooth's Better Business Bureau file was only opened in early 2026 and lists the business as operating less than six months, which sits oddly next to a five-year Google review history and the company's own claim of 15 years in business — the file may simply reflect a newer LLC registration rather than a new operation, but it's not something the evidence resolves. For a straightforward insulation, drywall, or plaster job — especially a larger addition where several trades need to be coordinated — the volume of specific, repeat-customer feedback here is hard to ignore; just get the scope of work nailed down on paper given the most recent account.
